I say that he has a long way to go to prove that he can do what he has promised to all of his supporters. He "talked the talk" now can he "walk the walk"?

I believe he can! His job is going to be sooooo easy since the democrats have the majority in Congress. Can somebody say CHANGE!!

What are the major changes that you are anticipating - how do you think they will impact you?

Well all I can say now is I hope he can do the job. He talked the walk. We will now see if he can walk the walk. It is all a wait and see thing now. It does not look like the democrats got filibuster proof seats in congress. So it may not be as easy as he thinks to get his stuff passed if the republicans in congress can still filibuster them. It just depends on if they follow politics as usual or if Obama can reach across the isles in congress and actually get everyone (on both sides) to work together. Which will mean compromise on both sides.

I am not sure that Obama is not just a Democratic pawn - a figurehead to take the heat when the Democratic Congress and House of Representatives do things that aren't popular with the American people.

We'll see - time will tell and we will see what Obama is made of. I do notice that the person he has asked to be his Chief of Staff voted with his party 98.5% of the time as a member of the House of Representatives. We will undoubtedly be experiencing Democratic Party politics at it's best(?) in the years to come - who knows if that will be good or bad.

I don't think I ever said I didn't believe he couldn't get elected. I just said he wasn't what an american president should be nd stand for and I still stand by that statement. He is even less constitutionaly competent than Bush. Far worse. So here we are, We'll have to see what happens.

Amazing, the flock mentality again. You are assuming because I didn't support Obama that I must have been supporting McCain. There were more than 2 people running for office.

What exactly should a american president stand for? A failed war,Recession, unemployment, which one let me know?

There's a difference in getting the job and doing the job. Obama needs to prove he can do the job or as Al Sharpton (not a fan, but it was well said) said, "We're in the pilot's seat now and we better know how to fly the plane or we never should have gotten on the plane in the first place."

I am not a fan of Al Sharpton either, but that is a very interesting quote. I have had the same thought - if Obama does good, it will be good for the African American people - if he does not, it will be a long time before there is another African American elected as President.

The plane is already facing technical difficulties due the regime that john mccain was a part of. Obama can only fix the plane a pilot it to new heights, there is no way that he can get worst.

Good question! I am a supporter, but I'm going to answer the question anyway. I think the naysayers will continue to be skeptical for awhile until he proves himself. I think that's ok, really. I hope that he delivers on the promises he's made and can start to turn this country around. It'll be a long road, but change is on it's way!

If we were all let to believe unconditionally in everything that everyone promised to do for us - there would be no one to hold those who make these promises accountable!

I don't think any of us is dumb enough to just believe everything we're told, but I do thing it's good to hope for the best. Otherwise, what's the point? Unfortunately, a lot of politicians have done a lot of damage to us without being held accountable like they should.

I agree but what would the world be if we didn't have non believers. They are the motivation to make things better.

Sorry but I still don't believe in him. What has he actually accomplished? He had the most money, the media endorsing him, he's half black and represents "change" to the Bush bashers. It's way to early to change my mind, just because he won the election.

Barack Obama will do all he can to improve the life of all americans black and white alike. He is both a family man and a protector. Pulling the shoulder will save millions of lives and help pull america out of the recession. Iraq at the moment is sitting on $10,000 while we just give them like $80,000. What Bush didn't understand was that you couldn't change the world in one day.
