I bought a laptop a few months ago because I needed a computer to connect to the Internet. This is my first laptop - Dell Inspiron 1525. I love it. It is portable. It does not have to sit at a location; I can take it with me whenever I go. It's a good computer. I have very little problem with it ever since I bought it for $450 at Best Buys.

laptops - two laptops side by side
Hi there! I haven't bought a laptop yet but I have one from my dad. I like using it rather than my desktop because of comfort. I can use it anywhere like what you said. Besides that it's compact and light so its easy to carry around. But if I would compare it to my desktop with regards to its capacity, desktops is still the best because you can upgrade them unlike laptops. Laptops I think are best for travelers. Especially businessmen who needs to work and work wherever they are. And of course for internet addicts like me, who likes to mylot anywhere its possible hehe. Ciao!

Laptop portability makes it ideal for people who are always on the move. You are right that laptop capacity such as memory or upgrade is not comparable to desktop. But, most people use computers for activities that do not require usage of much memory. I'm an internet addict also.

Yeah I think most people use laptops nowadays for typing, surfing the net, emails and chatting. Business men use it too so they will always be updated with their business wherever they are. Happy mylotting!

My current laptop is my second one and it's a Toshiba. I bought it for close to $700 two years ago and it's still working perfectly. I ended up buying my first laptop (also a Toshiba) because I needed to use it for school and I didn't feel like sharing. At the time we only had one desktop at home and it was a pain trying to share it with everyone else in the house. I originally wanted to get a desktop at first but it was kind of spendy to customize one. So, I just went to the closest electronic store, browsed around and bought myself a laptop. It was nice because I got to take it to school and other places with me. The wireless connection was a bonus for whenever I took it to the library. I didn't have to wait to use one of their computers. And the most important thing was that it was mine and I didn't have to share it with anyone else in the family.

Me and my fiance bought a laptop a long while back from an ex friend because she did not use it and she said that her and her fiance would sell it to us for two hundred dollars which was a good deal even though it is an older laptop, and the reason we wanted a laptop was so me and my fiance could both be in the same room, and she could use the laptop while I was playing a game or something,so we could both be together all the time, and then I joined mylot under my fiance,so now we can both do mylot,so we sit together in the computer room and spend a lot of time on mylot which makes me very happy, and we are hoping to get another laptop,so that way me and my fiance can both use laptops and then we will be able to do mylot and other sites from the comfort of our bedroom or in the den while watching television or playing video game so that way we can accomplish many tasks all at the same time, especially since we have a lot to do,that does not involve being on the computers, and my parents might buy us a laptop for Christmas, but it depends on how the economy is and whether or not they can afford it.

Yes, the portabilty of a laptop is the main reason I bought it. Also, laptops are much more cheaper than before and you still get good performance even from the cheap ones.

Hey, The reason I bought a laptop is because my desktop stopped reading USB drives, so then I was using an 800MHz laptop with 128MB RAM which was driving me crazy. Then I bought a better laptop.
