We recently bought this electricity saving device at ACE Hardware. Don't know if it will actually help. We also do our best to minimize the use of our aircon, except when their visitors, and take out the plug from outlets that aren't being used. Any more ideas?

I think it would help if we will use energy save lights... that will surely help... sometimes... instead of using the washing machine... i just hand wash dirty clothes... and turn off lights when they are not really needed... i also time my airconditioning unit to only 4 hours... then use electric fan after that...

We have been doing the same thing. We unplug appliances if we dont use it. If your dirty plates arent that much...you might as well wash it by hands and dont use dishwasher. It's already cold outside the house. turn off the aircon and open your window.

We did many things as part of our austerity measures at home. The funniest and silliest things among them is that we are not using our own fridge anymore. What we do is bring all the meat in the office and use the fridge there. I know that's crazy. Happy posting.

We saved a lot of our electricity since we don't have air con here in Baguio. But there are still saving measures that I and my housemates observe in the house. We make sure that all lights in the room would be turned off during the night. We unplug our refrigerator around 6 am until 1pm since the our goods and foods in the freezer maintain its coldness. Also we make it a point to iron all our clothes on Sundays so that we will not iron everyday. These energy tips really helped me to have low electricity bills. ^^,
