Corruption in the Philippines

This is for the Filipinos out there and also for everybody who thinks how corruption affect the country and its people. With all the scams our government officials are going through especially our President, do you think we can still rise being a third world country. During the time of Marcos, we are a disciplined country, even though he (Marcos) is corrupt he does great things to the Philippines. We are ahead of other Asian countries. But as soon as his term finishes or has been ousted. The fall of our country also started. The corrupt officials do nothing but take all the people's money. They became the wild predators munching all the wealth the Filipino is giving for the development of our country. The money we make and give to the government which came from our blood and tears can be easily taken by this corrupt officials and put in their pockets. DO you think we can still survive? do we still have a chance to grow? can we still clean this dirty government? not that I like those people who rallied on the streets but how can we change our country? how can we help the future of our sons and daughters? A very sad thought but we need to face it.

Well all we have is hope in our hands. The country still have the youth which would still become great leaders of our country although some of our present officials a pretty much dirty in different ways. One thing to change our country is to trust each other. Another way? Help each other. Another way? Stand our grounds. Another way? I dont know there are many ways on how to change our country but our officials keep on stoping this change so they can earn more and steal more. America showed something to us that is very important in the growth of every country and it is CHANGE!!

I think there's always hope for a better future. If you don't hope for something better, then you will be overcome with despair, and that's not an option for me. But right now, I don't see change happening. Gloria is one of the worst people in the world. I think she's done more stealing than giving back in terms of her governance. The same goes for Ramos and Erap. I think Cory was corrupt too but not so much as Gloria is. Then Marcos was obviously corrupt but at least there was a bit of progress in the country.

hello rikkabren, Yes, we can still survive only and if only our government officials and most especially the President are really concern, care and true to all their promises when they're still running for their positions. What's happening in our country is that they're good in promising but in the end no action at all. If they already won, everything changes for the money. Gone are the days, that our children's children will enjoy to stay here in our own country. For ours, is like a never ending corruption. So, frustrating to watch news for our government is not really doing their part. If only have power to change everything, so our country will start from scratch like a baby. For now, we must face the consequences. Hope and pray that what we're all facing right now will come into an end.

There's no doubt about survival, after all its just the money they are greed of. I still believe Philippines are one of the most wealthy country compared to Japan, US and some other first world country whom dependents to 3rd world countries in terms of food. Let erase that concept that money is the only basis of richness, we are rich in agricultural resources aren't we? Why not throw a seed in your area and go back after a month, you can see boldly in your eyes that it grows even you don't give proper nourishment, do you think in the country like Japan, US and some other rich country you can do the same?

There's still hope for Pinas but everyone should stick to having changes among the people and the government itself. If the government are doing wrong, then why would people expect to do the right thing? Politicians are setting bad examples to the people.

If the younger generation works hard enough at it, they can turn this all around. You's need to all join together and get these corrupt officals out of there. It can be done. You need to come together. I know it is hard to beat the bullies but. This should not be happening in this world today to all you good people. It is just awful. Yes. I think you all have a chance to grow and grow. You need a good person to sort this out and too be heard. I wish your country all the best for the future. Goodluck. I wish I could help.

Hmm, I think what we need is change. Change to the form of government, individual change, change the way we live, CHANGE. And I think there is still hope for us, the young people are still there, who might someday bring that change. In what way ? I don't know. But I am still hoping that someday it will come. I might not be living there, but I am hoping for the sake of my family, friends and fellow Filipinos. Hay, this is the biggest problem of our country, that has no solution, unless you change the people in the government. But then corruption itself starts even from individual. I really don't know, it makes my head hurts just thinking..LOL ! Goodluck to us !

Have you heard that we are already top 5 of all the countries in the world that are hungry? I think with this type of government we have who can't solve this issue, I think we could not rise our status as one the third world countries. There are a lot of unsolved problems and the government does nothing about it, what they only do is debate , argue and steal people's money; no wonder people don't rely to them too much. Our honorable??? president has been dragged to a lot of scandals but none of our voted politicians dared to question her eagerly because they were paid by her allies. I really pity our country for having politicians who are selfish and corrupt!! ^^.
