I heard there was a huge laid off by many companies here too. usually companies will let people know a day or two before laying them off. all you can do now is find another source of income. it's too bad that it happens close to holiday, but you are not alone, this is difficult time for a lot of people.

Try to see it as an opportunity for something better to come into your life. Something else will come along, and if you have a good attitude about everything it will be make this time in between easier.

I am very sorry to hear that you are about to be made redundant. The world is having financial difficulties and many people are talking about the credit crunch. I know how you feel because I was made redundant when I was 20 years old. I had owned a tiny cottage for a year and my home country was in a recession. I decided to let my cottage out and get a working holiday visa for Australia. I bought an airline ticket around the world. I traveled for just over one year and came home missing my Australian boyfriend. He came to see me in the UK and we got married. I had been a children's nanny in Australia and that shaped my career. I did my degree and teacher training. I became a primary school teacher instead of a container marketing controller. Life went on after my redundancy and got even better and more exciting. I wish you luck with finding another job or doing something alternative like I did.

It is sad to know that you no longer have your job. Unfortunately, it is happening everywhere. I was laid off from my job four months ago. The job market is tight these days as well. Things are not going as well as I would like them to, but I keep hope that all will be better soon. Try not to get too stressed over this, because you will not be helping yourself if you do. Keep your chin up and know that you will soon be employed again soon. I wish you luck.
