I woke up about 3 am. Sat down at the computer. And had no internet. However it connected fine on the computer downstairs. My hubby was able to fix it, no problem. Has that ever happened to you? Where you got internet in one place and not another in the same house?

Well, home networking can occasionally get buggy. Then again, sometimes you are running different OSes or versions of OSes on different computers and that could be important, too.

That has happened to me before. I usually just go into connections and check it out that way and try to connect through there. Sometimes it works other times it takes a little more work to fix but glad you got things fixed my husband doesn't know anything about a computer not even how to turn one off right. He is to stubborn to learn really. He loves poker been trying to get him interested in playing online.

We only have an internet connection in the basement in the family room. I have had a problem with it going out for no reason and coming back a few minutes later though. It also goes out when it is raining really hard. That is because of the satellite signal though.

I have not faced such problems before since I am only using a router to connect the computers at home to the internet. If the router goes down, then all the computers would not be able to connect to the internet.
So far after 2 years, the old router is still doing a great job to allow all the computers at my house to connect to the internet. I am planning to get a wireless router and apart from that I would need to get a Wi-Fi card for one of my computers as it is only equipped with a LAN connector right now.
So have you found out what actually happened to your internet connection? Are you using wireless connection? May be one of the connection is faulty. If you are using cables to connect to the internet then you may want to check the cable to ensure that it is not damaged.
It happened to me twice already where one of my computers could not connect to the internet and eventually I managed to trace the problems to a damaged UTP cables but it took me about 3 days to realize that.
Cheers!
