The long awaited change in Ciao has come.

It has been going out in some discussions here before about Ciao's $1 per review payment. Then just less than an hour ago some changes occur and you are going to read it in the announcement board. The $1 per review is no longer in effect instead it will be 0.25 cents per review. That is still a big amount to have for a review and there were no other changes being mentioned from the rest of the incentives. So, are you still going to write reviews there? Or you gonna stop visiting it already? What's your take with the long overdue changes of the incentive?

Well, I believe everyone does and I think it's a long overdue already considering that the offer has been around since January. More than 10 months already in the making. Would this change was aggravate by the numerous violations and some non-sense reviews?

I thought the same way too and you can set right after your review is posted and still able to earn something, although not that much.

Maybe yes, it was promoted a lot recently. But i think they did it becouse they knew that the people (like me) will still with it anyway since it will still good. So, why to give us $1 when they can give 25 cents..

Hi sirrob! I've just read the announcement last night and although from $1 to $.25 is a huge drop I'd say I'm still gonna be there writing reviews and checking others reviews as well. $.25 is still a much higher amount per review than I make here in MYLOT the entire day. Plus I also anticipated the change in their payment per review cos they're paying too high an amount for a review and that still excludes the ratings and comments we get for it. So, it's okay for me. As long as I know I can make quality reviews and I can find quality reviews to base my purchase from then I think it's all good. Still a win win situation for everyone (except for those who just joined because of the easy money and not the writing of QUALITY reviews).

You have hit some good points there specially with your last sentence and just want to add plagiarist there also. And I think this is the reason that triggers for the offer changes. And you are also right that 0.25 is still a pretty decent amount if you are going to take it in broader perspective.

Well I guess I'll drop by Ciao in a new nick, haha! I'm expecting this to happen. Maybe they are targeting some site traffic and they've reached it only now. Yeah, that's a big difference from a dollar to 25 cents. But then I don't think I'll be inspired by that amount, hehe! ^^v How about you, sirrob? Would you be still writing for Ciao?

Hm.. I wonder what other opportunities I can earn from Ciao. I don't want to start from scratch again, huhu! I can't make any more reviews for now. I was busy reading/rating/commenting on others' reviews before I got banned because I can't write review now. I don't want to write review just for the sake of it you know. I can't wait what will be my verdict. ^^v

Indeed a long overdue already. They already achieve a good rating in Germany a few weeks back, in fact, got the the top rating there. I'm still there whatever happens considering that I am enjoying my stay yet I cannot tell what would happen tomorrow. So I could only speak for now that I won't leave since there are other ways how to maximize your earning potential.

If you are just reading the terms very closely, you'll know it girl. I think I have read every inch and every corner there already. That's another reason why until now I have only a bunch of reviews. I carefully chose what I have to make, of course with the exception of those techy gadgets. And also it just so happen that the ones I have just hit the mark.

This is really bad news. It is too big drop in pay from $1 to $0.25. I get that amount from a 1 minute survey from dNeero. A lot of people might leave Ciao because there are other review sites that pay much more than this. I think that I'll just stick to Ciao for the time being until I reach the minimum payout, and after that I am not really sure that I would stay. It all depends on the "exciting new changes" that they promise. This one was definitely not an exciting one.

Indeed, it is not and frustrating to think sometime but I guess they made a decision, somehow because the site is being abused and there are already a lot of crappy reviews. It would be nice to impose some criteria too in making review and not just the 120 words alone. But that is just way complicated already yet it must go some good things. Does this review site that you have mentioned has the same incentive that Ciao have? Like you earn more with those product that is in a special category?

There are few review sites actually, but Ciao is the first one that I have tried. I remember there was one gaming site that was paying more than 5 dollars for a review, but of course it needed to be approved first. Too bad I don't remember the name of the site. All I can remember is that it was only 3 letters. There are few others as well. I will have to look for them though. My bookmarks are a mess.

We are all aware that this is going to happen so we should not be surprised with this kind of news. But honestly, I was really sad with what happen. If I only knew that this will happen today, I should be writing more last night. I was only able to write 5 reviews last night. But we should not be sad since they are opening a new incentive program with Ciao. It is called the premium funds. You get a specific amount when they found your review is worth it.

Yeah, I am not actually surprise about it since it is already a long overdue, the offer has been around for more than 10 months already. And the premium funds has been around to for quite sometime as well.

I already know that the $1/review rate is just temporary or just a promotion rate. I never expected they will cut if off this month. It is probably because they got so many members already doing so many reviews -- that's why the expected thing happened. Ciao will always remain great for me. And I think also for many members. Though having a $1/review would be a big boost to write more reviews. I will still be doing some reviews and rate other reviews on the site.

That's right and in fact, the promotion has been around for more than 10 months already but what I suspect that they cut it off unexpectedly is probably due to a lot of violation going on that it translates to so many members being banned. It's still do a lot of fun making reviews with the current rate although the motivational factor of some members are less already.

It's a product review site. You are going to make a review on certain products ranging from tech gadgets, appliances, electronics, GPS and a lot more including movies and TV series that you are dying to watch over and over. You'll also earn when members read and rate your reviews and also from referral system. The minimum payout is just $5 through paypal.

As a new member of Ciao, I would still write reviews though it is moe cheaper compare what it used to be but it does not matter. To think, it is still a big amount compare to other sites that are paying us. So, why stop? All you have to do is to make a review and you earn. As long as you earn, then keep writing.

I believe so that it is still pretty decent amount, considering that there are no changes with the other incentives. That's the major set back right now but it serves a purpose, I believe.

i don't have a ciao account although i have heard a lot of good things about the site. personally, the $1 review really sounds good and to hear that the site is cutting down the payment to 25 cents is disheartening to say the least. i remember what happened to another review site, ximmy. they also lowered the payment for reviews and before you know it, they stopped paying for reviews altogether. i'm not saying that ciao will stop paying for reviews. maybe the pay cut is designed to prolong the life of the site since a lot of reviews are coming in and they can't keep up with the payments. anyway, i do hope for all the ciao users out there that the site stays on-line and pays its members its due. i hate to read about ciao going awol on payments on their members. there are enough sad stories like these in the online world and we can do without this one. just my thoughts.

For the meantime I couldn't tell that they won't pay in the coming days specially that they already lowered their review rates. I believe also that they have established a reputation already considering the accolade that they received in Germany being the top rated review site last month. More to that, the $1 per review rate has been around for more than 10 months already, so that just multiplies to millions of dollars from them and I just can't imagine the revenue they have out from it. Well, I just hope to see you around there when you decide.
