A Good American!

I hope Republicans and non-Obama supporters will have the mindset of talkshow host Dennis Prager, who always sees himself as American first, Conservative second, and Republican last. For example: When president-elect Obama toured the world during his compaign (a move that even I questioned), Prager set aside his political party, personal convictions and was simply concerned about how Obama represented the United States. And when Obama was declared winner on November 4, 2008, Prager accepted the fact, paid attenion to the victory speech and concluded that the president-elect was not a gloater, and that the man appears to be giving credit to the nation for his historic victory. Prager accepted that he had a president. (Oh, by the way, Dennis Prager, are you now going to put away your famous Obama "I, I, I, I guess ..." bit? Just wondering.) And folks, please do leave Governor Sarah Palin alone! The campaign is over! Sarah Palin did not cost John "Wayne" McCain and the Republicans the White House! The truth be told: It was Sarah Palin who indeed brought some life to the Republican deadend campaign! If there was a VP candidate who almost messed it for his running mate, then it was Joe the Biden - with his constant inconsiderate and undermining remarks! I believe that people simply got fedup with the warlikeness of the Republican party. Please, let Governor Sarah Palin pickup whatever is left of her life and move on! Thank you!

I hope all Republicans and Conservatives can unite under President Obama and for God's Sakes move on. It is time. The electorate has spoken.

I see it about the same as Dennis Prager here. Obama will be president. As such, he doesn't have a right to my support, but I'm also not wringing my hands hoping he fails just so I can point and laugh. I leave that kind of childishness to the folks at Democrat Underground.

But I hope no talk show host or comedian quits their "bits" against Obama. Being lampooned and parodied is part of the job, if Obama can't take it, that says all we need to know about his character. No president deserves unqualified support.

Yes, he doesn't have the right to my support although he'll have it to some extent as our president. But I also still have the right to be watchful to make sure he doesn't impede on my rights. I have the right to criticize where he goes wrong and I have the right to point out where he didn't keep his promises. Hey, I hope people do get the change they desire, the change so many people think he is going to give them. It would be nice to have some more money in my pocket. I'm just not holding my breath;)

I am waiting for when the American people will wake up and realize their hero has feet of clay. And I really do not like peaceniks. Lived though the late sixties and seventies and learned what they had become. Just because a host is polite does not mean that he thinks that the president elect is so wonderful. In fact, tactfulness may keep him from telling what he really means. He had to be nice. So stop that criticizing and wishing he would apologize. I am waiting until the American people who elected Obama realize their mistake and those who villianize Bush also realize what they had done.

My dear Suspenseful, no one is asking you to apologize for anything: Yes, you are entitled to your views! All I am implying is that "the people" stand behind their soon to be president and hope for the best for the nation, currently in its worst International and Domestic mess (especially financially). I do not expect people to grit their teeth and suddenly kiss behinds, since I know that is something I would not do. I am simply requesting that, dispite the mixed feelings, the people give the president-elect a chance before criticizing and hope for the best (or at least the better). Do not forget that the nation got into this deep military and financial mess under the watch of a Republican president (over time) and a Congress that was mostly controlled by Republicans until late 2006.
