Hello I want to tell you about a group we are forming in our church and town..it's called Hands of Mercy..
This group will focus on reaching out to others in this way..We will offer to those who don't have a vehicle a ride to the store ..we will reach out to a those in nursing homes who perhaps have not visitors and also to the home bound elderly who live alone and might need a visit or someone to shop for them ..
In our town there is a clothing outlet and a food pantry but not a group that will reach offer a trip to the store or give time to the elderly free.
Please in your kindness pray for this little group that more volunteers will join us.

I think this is a great idea. My mom does similar favors for people she knows, and she really can't afford to. She will spend her last dollar on gas to take someone to the store or food pantry that needs something to eat.
I hope and will pray for your group. I am sure it will do well. I am glad to hear that you are helping out your community, because as they say, "Charity starts at home".

They say light a match and you can start a fire..Perhaps others who see this may start simliar little groups..there are so many lonely people in our world..while at the same time there are so many people with too much time on their hand..

That sounds like a lovely group that your church is starting up! You will likely find a lot of volunteers to help out, because people like helping others. It's that simple.
