I feel like I'll be pregnant FOREVER

Ok, so maybe I am only a day over due, but I already feel like its been forever. Who ever it was that made up the lie that you are only pregnant for 9 months needs a good smack on the head. They set your due date at 40 weeks from conception. 40 weeks is TEN months. I SO hoped that the baby would come early, thought he would, but now he is a day over due. I've tried several of the tips people suggest to help move things along but he hasn't even dropped yet! Is this normal? I'd love it if someone else out there could recommend something that would speed things along already!

I tried all the tricks they tell you but nothing worked for me either. My first one was 4 days over due. My second one was 5 days over. My third one was 4 days over and probably would have been more but they had to induce me because my blood pressure was going up and wouldn't go down. If they baby isn't dropped yet you've got some time. I think they will let you go up to two weeks past your due date before they try to move things along. Don't worry, it will be here before you know it and all the waiting will be worth it.

I know exactly how you feel. I felt like I was pregnant forever- both times. Unfortunately nothing I tried helped speed up the process either. I ended up being induced with both pregnancies. All I can tell you is what I have since learned- my girls are 5 and 9 now and I would give anything in the world to go back to being pregnant and have the opportunity again to hold them when they were first born. Cherish this time- I know how hard it is- but someday soon it will be gone and your baby won't be a baby anymore. Hold onto him and love him- cherish and enjoy every moment-even the days where you don't get any sleep at all. Good luck. I wish you a quick and happy delivery!
