Have you ever gone shopping and bought nothing?

Go shopping lalala - Buy lots of stuff no matter I really need it or not.

Most of the time I will buy things online, clothes, cosmetic, book, kitchenware, etc. But sometimes I will go shopping in the shopping mall and buy nothing. Just to kill time or looking for good things so I can buy online, or because I didn't find the right thing I like. I heard some friends say they will at least buy one artical even they don't like just don't want go back home with nothing. I will never do that, will you?

Welcome to myLot, Dawnwalking. I go shopping frequently without buying anything. I like to take my son to the mall and just explore things together. It is easier to not buy things when he is with me because he is in a phase where he wants 'help me pay' and not all cashiers find it as adorable as I do.

hahahaha, so LOVELY...explore but not buy, if I were the cashier, I would definitely don't like you both. Lol...Kidding. Thanks for sharing, happy every day!

I shop all the time and never buy a thing. If I didn't like something I would never buy it- that is just plain silly. I go shopping (window shopping) sometimes just to get ideas for the holidays or birthdays or just to relax. Thanks

Hi dncmanning, yes I agree with you, never buy I do not need it at all. That's good idea for you go shopping and get the idea for the gift perhaps one day you just don't know what is right for a gift. Once you bear the idea in mind, it's very easy for you to PICK UP the exact present. Thank you for your responding and giving me a good reason for buying nothing when shopping. Best wishes!

Hey- I have found some of the best gift ideas walking through the mall or store and I just knew that was the one- so for me it really serves two purposes, relaxation and gifting ideas. It works and my hubby is very happy that I don't always have to make a purchase while I'm out. Good luck to you and happy gift giving!

No, I find it a waste of time to go shopping and return home empty handed. Even if I go and find nothing I am looking for I will always get something so I feel that my efforts wern't completley wasted.

Hi bowtieguy, thanks for your response. I also did that twice or thrice. But after I got home, looking at the stuff I bought, I just found I don't like it at all or it's total useless, never use, never wear, just dump when I clear my closet. I thought that's just wasting money. Well, to some extent, wasting time is wasting money, don't know whether you agree on this expression. Best wishes!

There are times and times when I am alone and bored so I just go to the mall and look around. I have no intention of buying anything, just to while away the time and be amongst people. However, I am sorely tempted to buy things and have to have all my will power to stop. Actually, going to the malls or supermarkets to while away the time is good, but mostly you end up picking up things you dont need.

Yeah, ketybhagat, being amongst people is a good way to keep from thinking other disturbing things. And also if you are empty-stomach to supermarket, you would definitely buy lots of food and other stuff you never want to buy when you go after breakfast or lunch or dinner. Lol... Thanks for responding!

Never! I like shopping but if I didn't find anything I like or need to buy why buy anything at all just so I don't go back home empty handed? That's ridiculous. A trip to the mall could also be fun just by walking around (good exercise) or get some snack that's not available in your pantry or fridge. I am not in for wasting away money for something I just felt like buying.

Hi gicolet, I agree with you, I like the trip to the mall, just looking around, talking with friends, discussing the style, sometime trying out one or two, not bad way of spending time with close friends. Happy mylotting...

No, not really. I don't like to waste money on things that I most probably don't need. But on the other hand I sometimes end up walking around and simply stumbling across something that I don't really need but that I feel like buying. There are a lot of times when I look at online shops but never end up buying something. It might have something to do with the lack of money but I usually end up finding stuff that I simply want to buy o I have a little list after very time of looking around for things I might be interested in.

Hi Takashy, I also did what you have done when shopping online. Most of the time I save lots of items into my shopping cart, but before I pay for them, I hesitated, I would ask myself do I really need them. Thinking about the money...So you can imagine I bought nothing, but it's really good way of killing time. In addition, from the attitude of shopping online, I only realize I am in short of money...Lol.. Thank you for sharing with us your experience. Happy everyday!

I have shopped before and bought nothing. I did the other day when I went to the mall. My daughter needs new snow pants and winter boots. I happened to be near the mall, so I stopped to see what a few stores had. They had some nice stuff, but I knew I could get what I needed cheaper at another store. So, I didn’t buy anything.

I have done that. It's shocking for me to go somewhere and not buy anything. Usually if I do go shopping it's for price comparison purposes or to see what kinds of products are actually on the market. Then I'll leave the store without buying anything and then see how cheap I can get those items online.

Yeah, most of the time it's much cheaper to buy online than in the store. But there is one consideration, is that one you bought online is the real one and with no flaws, and it won't bring you trouble in changing another one or withdrawing process. Thanks for your idea and happy every day!

I go shopping a lot and not buy anything. I do not have a lot of money lately. I just like getting out and walking and sometimes because of weather I have a hard time walking outside. So I go to a mall and walk.

Yes, I will sometimes go out and visit some small shop to find perhasp precious stuff, like cheap and beautiful clothes. You know in my country there are lots of fake brand garments but not bad quality like BOSS, GA, Prada...only little people will tell from the verified brands. I like that for I can NOT afford verified one.

I have had wasted shopping trips where I go shopping and cannot find anything that I am interested in. I just cannot find anything that appeals. I cannot find anything that I really want and cannot make up my mind. I hate trips like that. I get mad. Like today, we went to another city to look for a dress that the store near us didn't have in my grandaugther's size. They didn't have it either,so that was a wasted trip as there was nothing else that we would do but that dress.

Yeah, sometimes you even have got the idea of what the stuff looks like, but when you are in the mall, you just can not find the right thing you want. Well, can I give my proposal of visiting their website and find their selling telephone number and call them to check out whether they have that size or not, prior to you go there. Thanks for your comment. Best wishes!

I would never buy anything that I don't want and also do not like staying in the department store for a long time just to buy something. As soon as I get tired I'll just try to buy it another day. Most of the time I do window shopping when I go home to work. I'm in the morning shift now so I do it almost everyday. When I find something that I like for my daughter for myself then I buy it if I don't then I just enjoy myself or just go home.

Yea i've totally done that before. I went to the mall one time with a $100 gift certificate and couldn't make up my mind what i wanted to buy. So i shopped around and found all sorts of stuff i wanted but i was looking for something that i absolutely needed. Especially when i got the chance to get something i needed for free since i had the gift certificate.

Hi dookie, I may wonder what if the certificate is almost expired and you still haven't made your mind, will you just take one stuff random and go home?
