In the presnt days, with so many avenues of entretainment available in the home itself, most people remain so busy that they have no time for social interaction unless their is some function which is essential to attend. Either people watch TV or sit on the computer in the evenings when they return from work. Hardly anyone goes out to meet friends socially these days.
Do any of you socialise with your friends or just meet on mandatory occasions?

Yes, you are right mercuryman3a. It is hardly any time for anyone to socialize these days. Coming home from work, so exhausted that the only thing they want to do is to relax watching tv, dvd or browsing the net. Eventhough I am a housewife, my time is very limited. I don't go and socialize. The only time I go out from home is when I do my shopping.

I believe as you said the movement of people for social meeting have come down as they are well bored of travel to their work place during week ends and due to hectic travels even i too dislike travelling in week ends but still love some nearer walkable entertainment places

My social life receives a small percentage in my entire life. I am a home buddy person who is not too exposed to socialization but I'm friendly, sociable and very approachable yet there are just things that I am not fond of. I usually attend celebrations of my close friends and relatives but not that often because I am very busy with my work. ^^,

my social life is pretty good. I spend time with my boyfriend; we go out with his friends from time to time in fact we are working out the details to do something this weekend after a symphany on sunday. We also go out with my best friend or hang out at her place with her husband. We don't really go out to dinner, we just go to someone's house cook ourselves dinner and entertain ourselves. It helps keep the cost of going out down.

Right now my social life isnt the best. When me and my boyfriend started dating, I hung out with his friends more then my own becuase my friends were all single and did alot of stuff that isnt really considered acceptable when you have a boyfriend (partying all the time) And right now Im kinda in a fight with all of his friends (just to let you know, Im 18, and they're 17 and all boys and have alot of growing up to do, which is why we are in this fued) so theres not many things I can do. I live in a city where theres not many things to do other than movies and bowling, and my friends dont go out much or they do things thatmight upset my boyfriend, and my boyfriends friends arebeing immature. Itll [ick up though, I just find less and less people go out these days. Its boring, I remembr doing more in a week last year around this time then i have done in a month this year. Not many people go out and do things these days.

Hi there mercuryman3a!
You are right, with all the things we can actually do on our own, we may not really have much time to socialize. That of course include our work. However, we can always make time to meet with our friends and still do the things we enjoy doing with them. My social life is good but not as great as it was months ago or even a year back. But now that I do not have to work on Saturdays, I think I would be able to squeeze more activities into my weekends. In the next few weekends, I will be visiting some of my friends who are now based in different places here in the Philippines.

What social life? We cannot afford to go out very often any more so we hardly have a social life. We occasionally have a friend over for dinner or go to a friends house for dinner but we cannot afford to go out to eat at restaurants or pubs.
If we had more money for fun we would have dinner parties and go out and see our friends more often. At the moment we are lucky if we can afford to go out once a month. Of course we live in a rural area and the nearest entertainment is about 45 ks away so the petrol cost is also high.

I would put myself as a social person. Sure I love TV and the internet, otherwise I wouldn't be here but I can always find some time to visit my loved ones, including all my close friends. It's important to have a social life. It is a part of being healthy. If you don't have a social life you won't be happy.

hmm..ok i can say without a doubt that i literally have no social life to speak of lol! the only ppl i know in this town are my family. ive waved and said hello to my neighbors but thats about it. i dont go out to bars or anything like that. in actuality i have a bit of a problem being out in public as it is..around large groups of ppl..so going to a nightclub and stuff is just way to stressful. shoot, going to the grocery store is pretty damn stressful for me!

i am a homebuddy person..i prefer staying at home with hubby than meeting up with friends.. i know i may sound a boring person but that's what makes me happy.. plus it's kind of expensive to go out these days since prices of basic goods and commodities are increasing every month..yay!
