Do you ever shoplift ? I have 2-3 times from the hypermarket were i worked for because i was annoyed by the fact that once, when i left work and i had the smallest coin in my currency (5 bani = equivalent for 1,5 cents or so) and the security guard started to give me a moral that as a cashier i am not allowed to have money on me and that i stole those (come on, if i were to steal, i would have taken a larger sum, not a lousy coin), while other cashiers were having lots of money on them he choose to pick on me, and i know this is not the best reason to do this, but that's what motivated me (plus i wanted to see if it's possible). I stopped doing this however because it's not fair or just.
How about you, have you ever shoplifted ? If yes, why ?

Hi! I have actually. Well, it wasnt intentional in the first place but I didnt return the item so think its still considered as shoplifting.
Was shopping for a book series and I bought 3 of them, saw another book in the same series and thought of trading one of those that Ive bought, same price anyway so wouldnt make a difference. Then I saw that the condition of the 4th book was not that great. It took me some good minutes to decide which Ill take home but I ended up taking home all of them. I didnt even notice that I put them all in the bag and not return the one in the shelf. There was not attendant looking over me. I only realized it when I got home so I just kept all four of them.

I've shoplifted when I was younger; around the age of 14. I was young and stupid and didn't know what I was going into. I stole a bunch of make up with a friend. We ended up getting arrested. Fortunately, my record was expunged and I no longer have one. I've actually learned my lesson.

No, but I've been accused of it. When I was 17 I went to a store with two school friends...we wanted to look at the new Christmas stuff. They decided to shoplift and since I was with them I got blamed too. They were both 16 so their parents were called and they went home. Since I was 17 I was booked, fingerprinted and stuck in a cell. My Mom had to bail me out. I went through several court appearances and had to pay a fine...the Judge even said he felt being hard on me would serve to make younger kids think twice. Since then I don't go into any store with anyone except family.

I have, but not on purpose. And wouldn't you know it happened more than once! The first time was when my husband and I went to a store with our oldest son who was just a few months old at the time. Instead of using one of the stores carts we used our stroller to carry the items we wanted to buy. But my son started to cry and I felt rushed to get out of the store. And in my rush I guess I had forgotten to put some of these items up for the cashier to ring them up. When my husband, son, and I got home I wondered where some of the items had gone to. I retraced my steps as best I could in my mind and realized that these things were still in the stroller's basket. Sure enough they were there, when I looked. I was so ashamed! But I didn't go back to return these things as I wasn't sure if they'd believe my explanation.
The second (and hopefully the last) time was when both my kids were with me. This time we were at Wal-Mart and I was using the self pay lane. This way of paying was still new to me and I thought I had scanned all my items. When the kids and I got to our car I put the bags in the back. When I was done I saw a package I had forgotten to scan. It was a bra of all things. With it being such an item and having both my kids with me, I just took it and ran! LOL Funny thing is, some time after this incident I was overcharged for my groceries while at Wal-Mart (not the same one). So I guess I got what was coming to me!
LOL
Nowadays I tend to double check my basket so that I don't make such a mistake again.

I guess I am guilty of this sin too... Especially when I am in a hotel or a restaurant, I am excited to bring "SOUVENIR" or a small thing as a "MEMENTO" and trying to sneak it out gives me and my friends a sudden surge of excitement or THRILL... but in a way NOT SO GOOD... or should I say BAD!
Arrrrgggghhh.... but whatever reason we all have, it all comes down to whether or not we have or we have not steal something. Irregardless of its size or cost... Stealing is still stealing!
BUT PROUD TO SAY... I stop doing that after realizing that I am degrading myself into such a low stature especially if ever that I will be caught sneaking something from the place I have visited. Thats why I always ask myself this question: "Is my dignity the same value/worth as that object?"
To tell you honestly, I almost did it again just a few hours ago in a department store after seeing a small cute thing on my way but I just try to remember my mom's advice: NEVER STEAL! Then, I suddenly became conscious and BLOCKED THE NEGATIVE THOUGHT OF GETTING the said object... I then call the attention of the clerk in charge to pick up it up and place it to where it should be stored.
SIGH... Thanks God I manage to surpass that... with HIS HELP and my mom's reminder too. :) and my conviction!

I am also proud to say that I have never shoplifted before (not even when I was a little kid). I am now a work-at-home mom, but before that I worked as a retail store manager. I never once thought about stealing. It just isn’t something that I would do.

No I have never shop lifted. First of all I would be easily caught. Secondly I don't think it is morally just to do so. I don't want anybody to steal from me. Therefore I don't steal from others. © ronaldinu 2008

yes I have. Im not gonna lie about it. I worked at a store that sold makeup and clothes. Ive tried on a new colour of lip gloss during a shift and just ended up keeping it. Nothing big. It just sucks paying for stuff knowing how easy it is to take it, especially sincea lot of stores dont have any good means of security. I know alot of people who shop lift for that purpose.

I am glad to say that I have never shoplifted, If I ever did I would make a plan first and be very through with it to make sure that I would not get caught.

No I never shoplifted b4. But when I went shoppin with my sisters friend she did shop lift and when we went otu the store the buzzer went off. She got arrested and we left her there cuz we had nothing 2 do wit it. I know bad freinds of us but y get caught wit some 1 that shoplifted? They would think we did it too...She got grounded and im not sure what elese happened. This was when I was like 13 though. I could never have the guts to shoplift! Not with all the security they have now in stores.

Hi elitess,
When I was a child I stole a chocolate sweet, but no since then I have not shoplifted, it is not fair on the staff that works there because where I use to work, if someone shoplift we have to make up the difference at the end of the shift, so I think it awful, people dond't realise what they are doing to those people.
