How to season a new cooking pan?

I'll be getting a new place soon, and I will be buying all new appliance and stuff... Well, I'm new in things especially cooking, so I was wondering, what's the best way to season a new cooking pan? I would really appreciate the help, I was in a buzz because I'm not sure which catergory to put this in.. So I just put it in Questions and Answers.. So please do help me with this.. How do you season a new cooking plan? I would also appreciate if you have tips on how to choose one!! :) Thanks!!
