Did The Republicans Learn Anything From Their Defeat?

To find out the answer to this question is simply, will the Senate GOP re-elect Mitch McConnell once again elected as Senate Minority Leader. If this happens then I am sorry but their is not much hope for the GOP in 2010 mid term election. Let us not forget the Bridge to Nowhere you know Ted Stevens pet project. McConnell voted for it twice. When Tom Coburn showed some actual leadership on an issue that mattered to conservatives and tried to push through an amendment to move the money for the bridge over to Louisiana in order to help repair damage done by Katrina, Mitch McConnell voted against that common sense maneuver. Even worse, Mitch actually campaigned this year on bringing pork back to Kentucky. The Minority leader in the Senate got elected because he told voters in his home state that he could bring home more bacon than the other guy. Now I do not know about you but that is what Democrats campaign on, not fiscal conservatives. Oh and how can we forget the how Mitch got GOP's Senate support of the bailout bill that cost them seats in 2008. Tom Coburn, Senator from the great state of Oklahoma did not support the 700 billion dollars of your money going to some dumb banks, and did not support the bridge to nowhere. This is just two reasons I hope that the Senate GOP will elect Tom Coburn as the Senate GOP minority leader.

I never heard of Tom Coburn, but he sounds like a good leader. So how do you get him to be the Senate Minority leader? That bride to nowhere money should have gone to the Katrina victims.
