Have you had your carpet profeesionaly cleaned? Were you happy with the results?

We've lived in our apartment for 3 years and haven't had our carpet done but I'd love to...it needs it. Eventually I'm going to buy a steamer and do it myself. We're not supposed to (it's in our lease) but I will anyways. [b]~~AT PEACE WITHIN~~ **STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS**[/b]

Yes, years ago I used a professional carpet cleaning service. (one of the large chains that steam the carpet) I was actually not very pleased with the results. The carpet stayed damp for days and I felt that the odors (we had just moved into the home and it had the smell of dog on the carpets) were worse after the cleaning. They did not offer nor did I think to ask about fragrances. Perhaps there are other professional services that would have done a better job. I hope you have a good experience!

I haven't gotten my carpets cleaned at all since I moved in my townhouse 6 years ago. It's something I need to do, and the only research I've done is some pricing. And of that research, all I know for certain is that I'm going to hire someone to come in and clean the carpets, and not rent a machine and do it myself. Forget that. The cost is similar, so why not get someone else to do it? :D

I used to have them professionally cleaned but I bought a steam-cleaner a few years ago and I just do my own now. They did a very good job when I had them done and they had a fragrance called rainforest that I loved. I tried a few and the only one I didn't like was musk. It smelled like wet carpet!
