Is it my after shave or is it just me?

Years ago, me and a bunch of friends thought of a business idea and thinking that it wouldn't require much money to put up set out on a fool's quest to start something. We were all into computers and stuff and we used our expertise to come up with an online application that helps people and the business sector. Later, I did some digging of my own and I found out, man it takes more than the 5 of us to just get this business up. We don't have finances. After 2 years 2 of our friends gave up. We had to find other people to fill up that gap. Then I finally got enough courage to approach an old boss whom I've worked for years. I left that company because of the power play in it. Too many sharks swimming around the company and power hungry. They'd do anything so they can get rich and even try to rip off the owners. They've spent millions of our currency on bad deals and bad ideas and even downright obvious concepts from their managers that didn't work but made those managers tons of money. The company is huge in my country and they can withstand those even in tough times. So this millionaire friend and former was my first and only hope to invest in my ideas. He loved the idea and feedback from a lot of people I knew thought it was my best idea ever and everyone said it was so darn crazy it should work. But later on he decided not to invest in me for reasons that only he knew deep in his weird skull. So I told him you invested millions on stupid ideas and you knew them from the very beginning they were stupid and your people are ripping you off and you invested in them anyway. Here I came with a brilliant idea which he said himself and he didn't want to invest in it. I don't quite get that. Lol. Of course I've seen it happen all the time, wrong decisions made by CEOs and Presidents, but it was the first time I experienced it for myself. It was all there in my favor since the guy trusted me. After a few months of research and study about it he finally said he wouldn't invest in it. Here I was one of his most trusted employees for years past and he'd rather gamble his money on those sharks in his management team. That was a waste of time. Have you ever been led to think that you were on the right track and then suddenly you got your plug pulled out from you? What do you think happened back there? Was it my after shave? Lol. Thanks for letting me share this crap experience.

Sometimes AI think the wealthy like to stick only with their own kind.. Like if wealth goes anywhere else there'll be less for them... Like an exclusive club too..

I get your point. But what about those managers he has. They are not in the rich club, they're still his employees and he lost tons of money on them. I still don't get it. Maybe I just may not be into this thing or I don't exist. I just might be a figment of my own imagination. Lol. Thanks for the response! cheers!

I don't know why, but it sort of reminds me of how every once in awhile I would run into someone who would take an instant dislike to me. Happily this doesn't happen to me anymore, maybe because I'm older and seen as more harmless.. But I always wondered how or why someone would take an instant dislike to me, when they'd never even ever spoken to me or anything. I'm not saying this is the case with this man, just that it reminds me of it in some indefinable way.. Hopefully someone else will back your idea and this guy will be pushed to jealousy when you both make large profits!

Yup that was 3 years ago. After most of my money was exhausted trying to pursue this mad venture, I went back to work for myself. I'm a freelance designer now. My millionaire friend keeps his obvious wrong decision to himself and still calls on me sometimes for some contract work. A year back his other choice to invest on went down like a bag of sack. Lol. We never talked about my venture again, yet I could feel and see it in him that he admits to his huge mistake. It barely fazed his millions, and here I am with almost nothing in my bank after that fool hardy venture. Lol.
