Do you Squidoo?

I just put up my first lens. I am not sure what to do now. I have no visitors to it yet. Are you on Squidoo? I wrote about gossip and magazines. Can I post my link to the article here? I am not sure, because I don't know how to let everyone know how to find me there without a link. I didn't use moneyandgc there. How do you go about getting views on your lenses? Anyone have any insight for me? I know, I asked a lot of questions on this post.

I have one lens at Squidoo, but I haven't done anything to promote it, so it doesn't get much traffic. But it still collects a bit of money for me. Not enough to cash out yet, but I plan to do more lenses once I have some other writing projects going. It's a good site, but you have to take the time to promote your lenses. If you have a blog or website, add the link. You can also add it to your signature on forums that let you have a sig. You can add the link to your Mylot profile, but starting a discussion just for self-promotion is against the rules, as you probably know, since you've been here for a while. Good luck with your lens.

Thanks. I have seen people promote their Associated Content articles and Helium as well but I didn't know if they were breaking rules or not. I didn't want to chance it so I left the links out. I will add the link to my profile instead. I have gotten some views on my Review Stream that way so maybe that will work somewhat. I read a really good lens last night about how to do well there so I may give it a shot.

Social Bookmarking & Networking Sites seem to be a sort of popular way to bring traffic to your particular lens. If you wannnnt a super big list of some just send a PM my way and i'll send you a link to a whole bunch of them. Social Bookmarking site's are much like your favorites list but online & people can vote for them if they like them and generally the more votes you get the more likely someone is to check out your site which means more and more traffic if it's an interesting enough site or lens in your case. Networking sites are kind of hard to do. You actually have to make friends with people on some of them and know them for a while and then introduce them to the concept of Squidoo & generally if they're a good enough friend & share similar interests to you they might check & re-check your stuff waiting for updates n' whatnot. The best traffic-drawer at least from the short time i've been at squidoo seems to be reference stuff(As in guides to stuff n' whatnot.), political stuff, Humourous stuff, seasonal stuff(christmas, thanksgiving.. etc.), news in general, and debates. Hope this helps!

You need to promote your lens to the search engines. One way of doing that is to go to Yahoo.com and submit your lens there. Here is the link to get started. This will get you into several search engines at once, I think. http://search.yahoo.com/info/submit.html Then go to other search engines and usually at the very bottom of the page there will be a link to suggest a site or submit a URL. That is just the start.

I have tried it. But I am not really sure how it all actually works. So I basically just quit. *LOL* :)
