Happy Christmas! ( In NOVEMBER!?)

A Girl who works part time with me also works in a call centre.She sometimes shares funny things that happen to her while on calls with her clients..(nothing confidential or business related!) As you can maybe guess from the discussion title,Someone at the end of a call wished her a Happy Christmas! I know it's coming,but c'mon,it's Still only November! Maybe it's just me,but having the shops pushing Christmas products as soon as Halloween's done just feels wrong! A personal one now-I was out shopping this week,and saw some cakes on a "reduced" shelf as they were short dated-they were Christmas themed!
How do you feel about this practise of early Christmas preparation?

I like to get my Chrsittmas presents early so that then I can relax later on when everyone else is panicking but, I wish they did keep the other things away until the start of December such as the Chrsitmas wrapper and decorations

First, the cakes. I would not have bought them at all!!! I would be too scared that these were leftover from last year (eww!) But what happened to your co-worker is to be expected. It seems like the Christmas themed things come out earlier and earlier every year. Pretty soon we will start seeing the decorations in the stores sometime in July.

Here I am now in early December,and I STILL haven't bought any seasonal stuff Yet! I was looking at those reduced cakes on the shelf (Didn't buy,was just curious as to why a Christmas cake was reduced in November!),and was wondering how could someone bring out a seasonal item with a best before or sell by date on it WEEKS before the event it was intended for? weird business planning,was all I could come up with! It's getting a little more seasonal now..I'm visiting in the US for the Thanksgiving Holiday at the moment,due to go home in the next few days,and today was a light snowfall,so it's getting closer!
