Well in my first Post today you can read how my Son surprised yesterday
It was a great afternoon, I saw Animals that I never thought I would see in real Life, yes we have been to Zoo’s when Kids where little but not to one as big as this
I love Tigers, specially the white one, a few Years ago my Daughter bought me a big White Tiger, I have seen them on TV and that, well yesterday I say a real one and he was a beauty I was mesmerized by this beauty, he was 14 years old, apparently their Lifespan is 10-12 years, they also had a beautiful Lion, who was 19 years old.
We then walked on and came to the Elephants, as we are walking on the right where the Giraffes 0n the left the Elephants, I was watching the Giraffes, and I heard a Waterfall, I said to Mike “I can hear a Waterfall, I wonder where it is” Mike started laughing and said “Mum look to your left” I did and well, I was disgusted, as the Waterfall was one of the Elephants having a pee, then to top it all he decided to have a number 2 as well. I know it is Nature lol but I just went “Yuk that is awful” Mike was laughing at me, he asked if I wanted to feed the Elephants or Giraffes and I said no way, the Elephant could pick me up with his Trunk and the Giraffe scares me it is to high up
Mike laughed at me. Then Mike decided we where going on the Train as the walking was getting harder for me with my Breathing and that, but hey I did not care and yes I over did but I was having a great time, so anyway we went on the Train, we saw Wolves, Monkeys, and these type of Animals that looked similar to little Monkeys but had the colouring of Skunks and goodness where they noisy
We then past another type of Monkey, the Lady was telling us that they where 2 Girls and called the Naughty Girls because when they where moved from area of the Zoo to another, they managed to escape and walked the Zoo all Day lol while the Staff was trying to catch them to put them back in their Home, well it took all Day
Then we went to see the 2 Tigers that they had, I can not remember what they where called but they are the biggest Tigers in the World, well they where beautiful, I came face to face with one of them lol but there was Glass between us but what a beautiful Animal, I was for few seconds in Paradise, unfortunately the Photo Mike took you could not see as it was to dark, Mike did not want to use the Flash which is fair enough but he did get some Photos of the Beauties when they came out once he sends me the Photos I shall be putting them on here
I saw so many Animals, there where Cheetahs, Puma you know from Lion King, then saw Lion King, then those Laughing things I can’t remember how to spell it, it didn’t laugh though, even though I was pulling faces at it, Mike was worried about my sanity I think lol, then they had some massive Rabbits, I have never seen them that size, Ants which where carrying leaves, stones and things like that I was amazed at that, snakes, which I would not go near the window, all sorts of Monkeys, then Chimpanzees, which decided to have play Fights and where making lots of noise, than mini Foxes with really long ears they where cute, just loads of Animals, I certainly was in Paradise for an Afternoon and I loved every minute, on the Way out Mike bought his Sister something to take back for her and he bought me a baby white Tiger and a Mug with a white Tiger on
It was one amazing Place to see

I love Zoos as for all the things you can see there that you wouldnt have tme to see in real life as would take so much money to go to the countries they are in .
3 great zoos here that I have been too is one in Salt lake City Utan abd the one in Denver Colo.
and the last in Pheonix Az.
So glad you did enjoy.
I had a giraffe smell me at one of the zoos as we were on a walk way that was even with them and it came over to sniff . what fun I petted him/or her.

What a fabulous day Gabs. I'm one of those people that always resist going to the zoo and then when I am there wonder why I don't go more often. I love to see all the animals but there's something special about elephants. Even when they are pooing. Just don't look up! What a great son you have too for arranging that for you.

Wow Gabs sounds like you had a wonderful day dearest! I love the Zoo , I haven't been to one in years though. The best one in Kansas that I have ever been to is in Topeka and that is a long way from us. I think someday maybe I should take my Grandson there. My favorite at the zoo has to be the gorillas . I was pregnant when I was there last time , and so was the female gorilla . She sat in the corner by the window and looked at my little Mattie and rubbed her tummy at me .
Thank you so much for sharing your day with us. Hugs Jodi

Sounds like you had a wonderful time Gabs. The last time I went to a zoo was 3 years ago with my grandson. The zoo wasn't very big, but it had quite a few animals to view. My grandson's favorite was the peacock. I was surprised at this because there were tigers, bears and other wild animals there. He was thrilled at the colors and the fact that he could walk up to the bird and touch it. I wish I had remembered my camera that day.

It certainly sounds like you had a great time! I am glad that you did, it is nice to hear about other peoples happiness and zoos are wonderful places. The last time I visited a zoo was back in May when we all went to Blackpool zoo and that was a lovely clean zoo we had a great day there.

These days', Zoo's are not just for animals but for exucation and preservation as well. last one I went to was in Jersey (Island not New!!) run by Gerald Durral trust, which has a policy of trying to preserve endangered species, and release them back in the wild if safe to do so.
Good number of years since I went to Edinburgh Zoo, it amazing the number of different specises and habitats that can be established in a zoo.

Isn't it nice when one of your children surprises you like that! I get a real kick out of it myself, because it means they've been thinking specially of you at that moment - and acted on it!
Your day at the Zoo with Mike sounded wonderful and exciting Gabs, made all the more special because of the way your son looked after you. Surely this is one of those occasions that will be remembered for all time. A memory to treasure.
Thanks for sharing it with us.

My son LOVES the Zoo. It's been a while since we visited too. We spend hours there looking at everything or shall I say as long as our legs can cope with all the walking.
It sounds like you and your family had loads of fun Gabs :)

Congratulations on your wonderful "zoo" day it sounded like you had tons of fun and I'm laughing here thinking about that "waterfall" LOL
Gee, I can't even remember the last time I went to the zoo...not since I was a kid. The only really big zoo in the NYC area is the Bronx Zoo and not that close which is probably why I never went there that much as a kid (my family never had a car and had to go by train...long trip)

Gabby I wish I could have been there with you. I think we would have had a great time. I am so glad you got to go. I am so glad your son has a good job.
I have a photo of a camel who we thought was posing for the photo but he was making a waterfall also. I cannot find the photo now to post it.
The last time we went to the zoo it was with Christopher my nephew, my daughter and sister in June we had such a great time.
I would love to go to a bigger zoo then the Fresno zoo. I have never been to the San Diago zoo in CA but one day I will go.

Hi gabs! Well you certainly had a very eventful day! It sounds
like you didn't miss a thing on your trip to the zoo! And it
sounded just wonderful! I love going to the zoo! You have the
same favorite animal as I do. I love the white tigers too!
Aren't they just incredible? They are just breathtaking! I
just stand there and stare at them. I could stay looking at
them all day! And when the have their little cubs you have
never seen anything so precious! I live in the USA and in
NY. We have the Bronx Zoo which is one of the most unbelievable
zoos ever! It is a huge zoo with all different kinds of
habitats for the animals. It is just undescribable. The
animals are put into habitats that resemble their real life
natural homes and they look like they are roaming free even
though they are behind walls. It is the most amazing zoo I
have ever been to. It would take a few trips to see the whole
zoo. It is really that big. You would love it! When I go I
always start with the Big Cats because they are my favorites!
I'm glad you and your son had such a great time! I really
enjoyed hearing about because you sounded so happy!

From your story, it is obvious that you really had a great time..the last time i visited the zoo was ages ago.. it was fun... i got the chance to see the big elephant, hippos, lions, tigers, zebras, snakes, birds, monkeys, crocodiles, fishes and many more... kids should be exposed to these things since it will help them to learn and have fun as well!

I'm glad you enjoyed yourself Gabs. I used to do so once upon a time. Its been about 8 years since I've been to a zoo. Not that I can't go, I just don't want to go. I don't want to sound stuffy (because I used to enjoy going to the zoo earlier). Its just that I feel very sad once I'm there. The poor animals rightly belong in their natural habitat. What are we doing to them? We are just taking away their freedom for our enjoyment and knowledge. It is just not fair to them at all. Put ourselves in their shoes. What if we were put in an enclosure for the rest of our lives? Sounds lousy, isn't it? Just dwell on that thought, and may be you will agree with me.

Whoops, my response went mysteriously bye bye.
As I was saying, I love the zoo, especially the cats. When Richard worked weird days and hours I had a LA zoo membership and I would hang out there all day looking at the cats, big and small.
We have two small zoos up here and I am overdue for a visit!
Glad you enjoyed your day!
