There are so many openings in chess. There's so many theories, concepts to each of it. There's also a historical aspect to each of it also. There's so much to learn, and this is opening only, not yet the middle game and end game. I want to ask all of you, how do you open your chess game? What moves do you do to start your chess game? What opening do you use as white, or as black? Please share the opening that you use, and why is it that you choose that one. I have seen thick chess books in bookstores written about one opening only, for each book. That's unbelievable. I like using the Ruy Lopez or Spanish Opening, not that I understand it much, it's just that it's simple, and I am used to it. I do need to learn other openings so that I have more variety to my game. Hope you guys can share some of your knowledge on chess openings. I also that you can add me as your friend in myLot, it would be great for me to learn chess when I befriend with more people who are interested in chess.

I can use d4 or e4 if i'm playing white, c4 if i'm playing black. Also it depends on my mood if i like the position to attack or defend. I'll say to my opponent you are checkmate when i'm winning, lol. Try sicilian defense & puzzle chess game.

i believe you made it wrong to say c4 with black. it must be c5. well i try f5 in response to d4 of white and my opponent didn't like it.

Yes, c5 for Sicilian defense when you are at black pieces.Playing f5 against d4 of white is like playing birds defense. It actually a reverse position or avoiding the center.
