Beans are a good source of essential B vitamins, fiber, protein, and iron. beans are special because they have energy from protein and complex carbs -- and fiber -- plus lots of vitamins and minerals. Recent studies have shown that using beans on a daily basis helps to reduce cholesterol while providing excellent nutrition, when beans combined with grains, nuts, or seeds they form a complete high-fiber vegetable protein. Beans are an excellent brain food since they keep a child's energy and thinking level at peak all afternoon if they enjoy them with lunch. Kidney and pinto beans contain more omega 3 fatty acids than other beans -- specifically ALA, another of the omega 3 important for brain growth and function. Pinto beans are a very good source of cholesterol-lowering fiber, as are most other beans. In addition to lowering cholesterol, pinto beans' high fiber content prevents blood sugar levels from rising too rapidly after a meal, making these beans an especially good choice for individuals with diabetes, insulin resistance or hypoglycermia. When combined with whole grains such as brown rice, pinto beans have to offer, Pinto beans are also excellent source of molybdenum, a very good source of folate and manganese, and a good source of protein and vitamin B1 as well as the minerals phosphorus, iron, magnesium, potassium, and copper. Bean are very inexpensive form of good protein, they have become popular in many cultures throughout the world.
