Hey everyone, I'm an author, and I sell my books on my myspace profile using paypal. I usually charge seven dollars shipping for the first book, then after that I only want to charge three dollars for the other books people order. I don't know how to make paypal do that! I have to go in and reimburse everyone the extra money it's charging them. Agh!! Can anyone tell me how to change like a multi-order shipping thing? I'm at a loss. Have a great day everyone!

I do it on ebay but ebay offers you an option to offer a reduced shipping for additional items. How do you invoice the customer? I was thnking you could change the shipping amount on the actual invoice before sending it. If you're unable to do that maybe you could contact paypal (link at the bottom of the page) and they could let you know. Good Luck

Perhaps look into getting some sort of invoicing system to add to your listings then link that too paypal

Well for my paypal I don't actually send an invoice at any time. Thanks for the info though, I may just have to contact paypal and ask about it. Thanks!!!

I don't know how you would change the settings in Paypal, but I have to say that you are really overcharging your buyers. Unless you're mailing between countries, books can be shipped for around a couple of dollars. I sell used books on half.com and Amazon, and I've never paid more than three dollars to ship a book anywhere in the U.S. I would never buy a book from someone who charged so much for shipping. I wonder how many sales you've lost because people know better than to pay that much.

I have to consider in the money I spend in the actual shipping, the money I pay for the packaging, the tape, the labels I print out, the gas money it takes to get me to the post office, and the fact I usually throw in some goodies for my customers. If someone were to argue with me personally that I charge too much, I could decrease it for them if they were buying enough books.
