Sending sms from pc to cell phones is common these days and there are many sites which let u send them..one is chikka.com from where u can not only send to mobiles in India but also to usa for free. it limits the number of sms u can send but u can make more than one id there so u get more sms. some mobile carriers still dont have contracts with this site so just chk if u have frnds with non contracted sites.

Usually it's your phone number followed my your carrier. I have a t-mobile. Before I got blackberry, "email" or sms address to my cell phone was xxx-xxx-xxxx@tmomail.net, except without the dashes (-). Open up your email, put that in "to" fiend, then write your message & send. Be careful, though. Most of the cell phone carriers will limit messages to 160 characters. That includes your email address as well. Either that or log on to your service provers website, in my case, tmobile.com, & usually they have messaging section. Put your phone number in & type.
