I've been noticing that some people have stars next to their nick name. The stars also have different number and coloring. Can someone tells me what this all mean? I'm really curious. How can you get a star. Enlighten me someone.

The stars are for rating, users can rate you for your responses to the discussions. If you get a positive+, your rating goes up, if you get a negative- your rating goes down. Each star with a different number has a different color. To rate someone you will see the + and - sign next to the post.

When you reach 100 posts you will automatically get a star. What number and colour it is depends on whether or not along the way to 100 posts you have upset many people. You will notice that there is a thing for rating posts: if someone gives you a minus, that goes against your rating, and if you get enough your rating will drop. I started with a 7 and have managed to get back up to an 8. My partner started with a 10 (she's a lot nicer than I am), but I think she's down to 9 now, because she got into the politics discussions. The ratings don't really mean a lot. All you have to do is upset someone, or someone disagrees with you, and they can minus you. Of course if people like you they will plus you, so it works both ways, but a lot of us think the whole thing is pointless. Lash
