Do you think Barak Obama is like Bill Clinton?

There are two presidents that I admire most than those from my generation. That'll be Bill Clinton and new president elect Barak Obama. When Bill Clinton was elected to presidency, Americans rejoiced and the world to in some parts. The promise of reform and economic growth echoed his campaign and I think he did very well during his term, politically. America gained hope and pride. Economy was good, the world "liked" America and many supported Bill Clinton's reforms and policies. After "the scandal" it seemed America became disillusioned and lost for sometime. Bush tried to make heads or tail, with success but still. Would Barak Obama's Change be as good , better or would be spectacularly best thn Bill Clinton's? What's your opinion, views, or do you even care?

There may be some similarities between Obama and Clinton but I must say at this moment that Obama has to work out his term in Whitehouse and then only exact comparison can be justified! Thanks for this nice discussion!

I think Barak Obama will do a good job, it doesn't matter if he does better tha Bill Clinton or not, he will surely give his 100%, Barak Obama will bring his own characteristics to the presidents post.

I think so too. All my friends who rooted for Obama, myself included, have great hope in the shift of party in the White House. (: Hopefully he'll be able to clean up the mess from the previous President. And I honestly do not know what Bill Clinton's personal life had to do with how he did in office. I think he made a great president, and blowing his personal life out of proportion was just immature in my opinion. Way too many people cheat on their spouses/partners, the only difference is that he was the president lol, and in the public's eyes just because he had that affair it makes him a bad President? Politics is a dirty, dirty career to get into. lol. Sorry for going a bit offtopic there, I just had to say it.

Maybe in some ways they are similar. In other ways, Obama is more agressive. Let's hope that in one way they will be different...if you know what I mean.

So far he seems to be following the same old Democratic Party philosopy of growing government, discourging people from getting ahead by punishing them with taxes on savings and investing, and trying to maintain a lower and middle class that believes the worthless promises inorder to get votes.

I don't know about being "like" him, but I do believe that he is already leaning on him because he doesn't, himself, have the experience and knowledge needed to make the major decisions required by the office. He has already chosen one of Clinton's previous staff to be his chief of staff - definitely not a non-partisan step as Emanuel has voted 98.5% with the Democrats during his term in the House of Representatives. I also hardly think that Bill Clinton is the person he needs to be following when it comes to our economy!

I am very pleased that Obama won, even though I would have preferred Hillary Clinton. I do think that what happened was the best for the country. I don't know if Obama will be like Bill Clinton. Probably not. At least, I hope that he will be better morally and he will not cause any scandals. Only time will tell if Obama will be as successful as Bill Clinton was when we talk about the economy. I just hope that he will not get assassinated.

Bill Clinton inherited the longest economic growth in our history and handed off a recession. His "balanced budget" was nothing more than off budget spending and unfunded mandates to the states. Let's hope Obama handles terrorism better than Clinton did, or we are in for a lot of attacks.

Well for as long as Barack would only the better part of Bill Clinton then its fine. Well for one I would suggest that he would not follow his dark secrets that made his presidency fell on that account. I guess Obama would be properly guided by his conscience and his appointed advisors.

I am proud that the Elephant that is currently in the office are leaving and well the fact that the donkey has gained a lot of power in congress and also with Obama coming in to office it is looking like he could be as good or better than Clinton was. I am just really really happy that it was such a landslide towards Democrats that it will be amazing.

Obama may be like Bill Clinton in his public life, that is with regard to his position on issues, his politics, tc., but his private life and/or family life seems to be much different. He seems to have a happy marriage and family, where Bill Clinton does not. I think Obama has it together much better than Bill Clinton morally and ethically.
