Is anyone else just dying to start decorating for Christmas?? I know I am. Anyway, the point of this post is to get everyone to come together and give me their best or favorite holiday recipe or gift idea for home made fun!!! Hope to hear from you all very soon!!

Just last week, I learned how to felt soap. It is really fun to do, so I am going to make every woman in my family a felt soap for Christmas. If you don't know what it is ( I didn't before), it turns out to be like a soap with a scrubbie thing over it. So when you use it, it is like a scrubbie and the soap all in one.

You take wool that has been softened into like very soft felt. You then wrap it around the soap, put it in a nylon and then in hot water. While in the hot water you squeeze it so the felt sticks to the soap. then you take the soap out of the nylon and scrub it like you would be washing your hands. Keep doing this over and over and over ect until the felt stuff doesn't come away from the soap. Then rinse it in cold water and squeeze. You can give the soaps out as little gifts. People use them to wash with just as regular soap,but it has the scrubbie or wash cloth over the soap, so you just use the soap on your body. It is kinda neat and they come out really pretty if you use different colors in the felting stuff.

I don't know that I have any decorating tips or ideas, but like you I'm so wanting to start decorating my apartment with Christmas things. I've heard a lot of people wonder why Christmas stuff is being pushed when Thanksgiving isn't even here yet. Well for me, having just a month between Thanksgiving and Christmas is not enough time! I love the Christmas season. So I think next week I'm going to start getting my Christmas decorations out.

If my kids were home I would do it NOW!! But they really look forward to decorating as much as I do. So, I guess for now, I will start on my sewing projects for Christmas, are you making any home made gifts this year??

i'm ready to start decorating too, only because i figure with one arm in a cast, if i start now i'll have it done by december.lol. i am makind mini-scrapbooks for most of my family since we live 1600 miles apart. it's a way of sharing my past year with them thru pics and journaling. i am also making christmas cards this year. all of which is taking me a bit longer and with more breaks lol

I am starting my gifting today too! My kid sister has a particular theme in her room so I am making her pillows and curtains, and buying her a gallon of paint in the color she wants her room, red...
