I like white sandy beaches, with gently waving palm trees and an aquamarine ocean. I adore going snorkeling to see colorful coral and friendly fish.
Do you like beaches in cold countries like a pebbly beach in Hastings?
Do you like palm fringed beaches like a sandy beach in Florida?
Have you ever been snorkeling?
What do you like to do on a beach?

Hi, maximax8.
I haven't met a beach I don't like.
I prefer a sandy tropical island beach to anything else. But the rocky shores of the great lakes are quite beautiful as well.

I also like the white, soft sandy beaches. Actually any beach in a tropical place will do :) In Hawaii they also have black sand beaches and green sand beaches. It is really cool :) When I am on the beach, I like to relax by listening to and watching the waves.
I went snorkeling in Hawaii 7 years ago and it was cool seeing all the colorful fish. I took a picture of a sea turtle while snorkeling...it was pretty much right next to me. That was awesome :)

The palm fringed beaches in Hawaii are the type that I adore. The waves on the North Shore were high and surfing was more possible than swimming when I was there. Black sand beaches can be hot to walk on. I found that out in Tahiti. Green sand beaches sound lovely. In Croatia I found some rocky beaches. It must be been superb to take a photo of the turtle. Off the coast of Western Australia I saw a turtle and snorkeled with a manta ray. Listening to the waves and hearing a soft ocean breeze all night in Samoa was a special experience.

Hi, mindym, welcome to myLot.
Aren't the black and green sand beaches just amazing?
I have a sea turtle picture while snorkeling too. It is of my husband swimming right next to the turtle as if they were both swimming up to me to say hi. Awesome.

I'm not fond of beaches. Maybe that's because there's a lot of fine beaches around this tropical city of mine. Anyhow, if I must go to a beach, I prefer them with white fine sand. Pebbles are good too. As long as the sea is clear and the weather isn't scorching.
But truly, I'd prefer hot springs or cold springs or waterfalls or something with fresh water. I just don't like the sticky feeling I get after having fun on the beach.

Hey ! I really like going to the beaches . There my mind is relaxed . I prefer beach with soft white sand ..crystal clear water and to accompany that few palm trees around . Beaches in Caribbean are breathe taking , they are really picturesque and calm.

You know Hastings beach we went there at halfterm with out son, very pretty place Hastings ,we went to the Abbey very interesting place ,not really beach weather , we have a touring caravan so we are really lucky and manage to get away for most of school holidays ,but Devon is my favourite place in England closely followed by Bournmouth and weymouth, the best beaches sandy and clean. I used to build sandcastles and motes to the sea when my son was little for hours and hours just playing now he is fifteen he wonders if there is wireless to see if his lap top will work.I love walking along the sea shore all wrapped up with the wind and spray it is so abandoned and natural, never been out of England for years although I thought calais beach was nice,Palm trees will have to wait till we win the lottery.

Hi Maximax. I love the warm tropical island beaches like in Australia and Hawaii. White sand or black . . . aaaah, I can hear the seagulls now. Snorkeling was kind of scary for me but I do love to sit in a comfy chair and read a good book while listening to the waves crash on the shore.

Just like you I like the white sandy ones. Warm water if possible, waves that are not to big nor to small and with a gentle incline instead of a fast drop going from water up to my knees to over my head in less than 3 steps. I don't like peebly beaches at all. Some rocky beaches with surprisingly sandy bottom are beautiful and I like them, but other than that..... white sandy beaches are my favorite :)

I too like white sandy beaches with gentle waves and transparent greenish blue waters wherein you can see the corals and pebbles through it. Here we mostly have yellow sandy beaches, barring the Andaman Islands. Some of the beaches in Kerala are said to be lovely too.
I liked the beach in Half moon bay and San Francisco but the chill in breeze is a damper.

Traditionally, I like the beaches in Trinidad.
They have rocks and gulleys and headlands with small crabs and oysters and a lot of Trinidad's beaches have a little swamp or river pouring out of them.
Also coconut trees and broken branches and rocks nearby in the sea and swirls and eddys and you can fish from the rocks and its all just a load of fun.

I too like a really white sandy beach - even though some that are dark sand have still fine sand I still prefer a orgeous white beach! I enjoy doing watre activities in the clear waters but sometimes I just love to relax by sitting on a nearly secluded beach watching the move of the sea and listening to the waves crashing!

I think all beaches somehow have an allure. When I was a child, I though beaches were supposed to be sandy, have clear blue water, and coconut trees. But then I saw some beaches which were rocky. I also have been to beaches with artificial logs to prevent the waves from eroding the sand. I've seen beaches where no fish swam in the water. And they were all beautiful to me. Just hearing the waves crash on the shore and having the salty hair press against my face already makes me very happy. :)

Hi max...
my family is into serious snorkling so we prefer those beaches with stones,corals...we often see different kinds of sea urchins which can really be painful once you step on it. So we wear the good kind of aqua shoes. My husband prefers the pebbly beach though because he just loves to stay in the water early morning and late afternoon. I am the only one who likes to scuba dive. Our 2 kids prefer snorkling. We dont like cold beaches,so we snorkel around the Philippines,Indonesia and Thailand only. My children doenst like Boracay very much. They say there's not much to do. Maybe its like this when one have explored a place so much already. Palawan is a paradise. We are choosing between Palawan and hongkong for our summer vacation for summer 2009. Palawan will mean heavy snorkling while Hongkong would mean Disneyland and shopping. Nice to be back...

I like white sandy beach which is available to read, swim, play volleyball, throw a football, collect shells, sit and talk. And go for long walks.
I love to collect shells, build sand castles, feed the sea gulls, tan, run around in the edge of the water, watch for sea animals, watch the people, and have a picnic.
I certainly wish I lived near the beach. I would be there every chance I had. I spent most of my time at the beach when I was in my village. It is very near to our village. I missed it now.
Happy to share. Happy myLotting.

I'm lucky that I am just ten blocks away from a beach. It has age old corals and has quite diverse marine life. I like this beach because it allows you explore the marine life when it is low tide- believe it or not, the corals can be exposed at those times make it possible to get some edible fishes too. However, during high tides, the color gets to be aquamarine and the current is extremely strong. Some distance can also be viable surfing site but the waves aren't that giants like hawaii. I love my beach, it is not like the famous white sand beaches on the southern part of my country but I am thrilled with the marine life since I can't go snorkeling...

I love my rocky, northern beaches with cliffs and rock formations. There's something so raw and beautiful and wild about them. Obviously, I also enjoy laying on a nice, sandy beach, and swimming in the ocean without having to worry about hurting my feet on the rocks under the water. Still, the winter ocean and stormy seas draw me so much more than pretty, safe seas.

It has to be sandy beaches. Unfortunately the majority of our beaches in England are either shingle or pebble beaches which I always find so uncomfortable to stand on bare foot. The odd sandy beach does exist here but there are much more commercialised so finding a peaceful place to relax on your own is almost impossible.

I like the white fine sand that you could actually walk barefoot.
You wouldnt be worrying about your feet getting hurt by a piece of broken shell and small stones.
