chocolate and...beer?

I've heard of chocolate and wine, but I'm starting to hear more and more about pairing chocolate with BEER! Everyone talks about the complexity and variety of wines, but beer has over sixty varieties of its own. It has certain sweet and bitter flavors that apparently go very well with the sweet and bitter flavors in some chocolates. I must admit I'm curious! Has anyone else ventured into this strange new world of beer and chocolate?
