Something is not right. My 3 1/2 year old daughter is just so into death. My great grandmother passed away about 7 months ago, and since then, my daughter has been talking about how she wants to die, how we all should die, that she doesn't want to go to the doctor because they wont take care of her and she will die, that she had a dream that she was dead and in heaven with Aunt Kimmie and Great Grandma. When she plays, one of her babies ALWAYS dies. Or, when she plays with other kids, she always "dies". What do I do? I feel this is extremely unhealthy. Am I wrong?r

wants to die? that seems odd for a 3 year old to say. Kids are usually influenced. I would look for another source. I would say someone else is giving her those ideas.

Nothing's wrong. Maybe it started when your great grandmother passed away. You should explain to her that it is not right. Let her understand that it happens when you get very old. This way, she won't think what she is saying is correct.

Have you talked with your pediatrician? She does seem to be a little too preoccupied, but she may just be going through a phase. Talk to her gently and see what she is thinking. Tell her that she should not worry about that. Telling her that your great grandmother had been around for a very long time and had a full happy life. Good luck.
