Hi williamjisir, thanks for such an interesting sharing. The old man is very ambitious and have strong will to realize his visualization, even at his age. By riding on this bicycle, he can have his own transport at very low cost and got the opportunity to exercise more. Besides, it serves as an amusement for the kids in the town too. In the photo, we can see that he is very happy and contented with his achievement. Hope this will encourage more people to do things on themselves, thus saving the environment by reducing pollution. Happy posting and have a nice day!

That's right. It's really amazing for an old man at the age of eighty five, still able to create his own vehicle, with limited resource. He deserve to be the role model for us. I really hope this news will make people aware of the importance of our mind creativity and the importance of our environment.

Wooden Bikes at Banaue Philippines - These wooden bicycles are ridden in the Banaue region of the Philippines. During an annual festival celebrating the culture of the regional tribes, wooden bikes are raced by participants in native costume. Notice the cool foot-activated brakes. These photos are from the Flickr pool of Harry Palangchao.

Hi jisir, I have seen bike made of other materials and this is the first time I see such a unique wooden bike. It looks more like a toy than an actual bike, no wonder so many kids chasing happily after him whenever he has fun riding on it along the street. I believe it’s rather tedious to ride on it as the wheels are small and the petals are directly attached to the front wheel with poor mechanical advantage. Anyway it’s a good form of exercise by riding it and environmental friendly as well. I respect this old man for his creativity and perseverance to finish such a difficult task in his senior age. posting and have a nice day.

His bike is child size, so kids would like to take a ride. It doesn't look like fancy but probably eco-friendly and not expensive to make.

Now that was something that I didn't think was possible. But it was nice to know that this old man made his own bike. He used all the resources that he had around him to make his bike and that is really nice. I know that he made sure that he had his transportation to get around. He might not have wanted to walk so he made his own bike. There is nothing wrong with that. People might laugh but they may wish that they had one of those wooden bikes too. Who knows this man might end up getting orders from people that want him to build a bike for them too. When you think about it, you don't have to worry about the tires getting flat that is for sure. It could be the next big thing for those that don't have a lot of money to spend on the good bikes. Who know but I know that was a real smart thing to do. Building a wooden bike. That is so cool, have a good one.

Hello dear iyah. You are right that our country is such with a lot of bikes seen riding on the street, but nowadays we are getting more and more electrical bikes instead of two-wheel motor bikes. Both bikes and electrical bikes are environment-friendly to the nature. But I don't expect more cars to increase though cars are increasing day by day as they need petrol and pollute the air. Good day to you, friend.

What a great idea! It's not far off from the various toddler riding "bikes" and such that we can buy in plastic, but that used to be made from wood years ago. It's just in adult size. Very cute indeed!

Yes and it 'wooden go'. Only joking. Good link. I checked it out there. I saw some wooden bikes in a museum once. They where made over one hundred years ago, but I am sure they have been made long before that. These bikes must be low on costs too. Thanks for sharing.
