Is having a hot shower after a meal not good?

I heard that if you have a hot shower after you eat a meal, the hot water makes the blood circulation to the skin more and thereby decreases the blood to the stomach and intestines and this is not good for digestion. While it seems to make sense, I wonder if this logic is true - is it? What do you think?

In my house, my grandma and grandpa used tell us that, do not take bath, after having food.. They dont have to tell me the exact reason behind it, but they used to tell us to strictly not allow us to take bath after our meal or any food. Later one of my friends dad, who is a doctor explain me the same, that if we took bath after bath, our digessions factor will not work as per their regular routine, it will get it distrubed by our bath.. That is the reason why, we have to give a minimum of 1 hour gap between our meal/ or taking any type of food, and taking bath. But you can take your meal or any food immediately after having the bath/shower.. this will infact help you to improve your hungry.. but having bath after food will distrub your digessions and also in some of the other technical factors too.. as doctor explained to me.. So, it is better to avoid to take bath, immediately after having your food. Have a good day

I did not know this. Wow, that is pretty scary. I am not sure if the logic is true because Science was never my strong subject in school. But, I think that it makes sense! Well, I usually shower first thing in the morning every day, so I do not need to even worry about it! But, it is still a good thing to know! Thanks! :)

I do not take hot showers after a meal so I guess I am safe from this problem. A big meal would make me sleepy if I was not on my toes so much. Cheers!!

I have never heard of this before at all. But, I would not have an hot shower after my meal.. I will let my water get warm to hot before I let it get very hot. I will not be able to stand the hot water like that..

I heard something alike too. It is not good for digestive system. That is why I heard a old believe saying that if you take bath after meal, you will get a belly. Might be of this reason that our waist will get bigger. Well, not so sure how true it is. I wonder whether there is a doctor here in Mylot so he or she would be able to unravel this myth.

Hello pitstop. I have not heard of such a saying that a hot shower after a meal is not good. But I think that what is described in the discussion sounds reasonable to me.
