Now that the holidays are rolling around people are getting ready for the feasts. What kind of food is prepared for each holiday and if it's one that you think no one has heard of (whether it be the food or the holiday) then please explain it in detail. Around this time of year holiday food and traditions start setting in for my family. On my side of the family we eat turkey, ham, dressing, stuffing, mashed potatoes, peas, and corn. Oh yes and Cranberry sauce (um, I think that's what it's called). I love turkey dinner as it's just yum-tastic. On my fiance's side of the family it is much the same and yet they also have holiday traditions wherein last year my fiance's grandpa cooked haw jawls something I had never eaten before, but were good. When it comes to Christmas we have Ham, and mashed potatoes, ambrosia, and such stuff like that. Peas and Corn I think even too! Then again there's candies and such. Chocolate Drops (that my grandmother calls something else, as well, I shouldn't say on here.. I hope you know!) and other candies - potato candy - kisses, nuts! For New Year's we have cheese and crackers, and such.. it's very good! What's your holiday food tradition?

My wife makes ube (yam) cake on Christmas holidays and I look forward to it. I used to like fruitcake but I think that is not going to be one of my favorites this year. Cheers !!

That's another thing we have is yams, but never in cake form, sounds interesting though! I'm not much for fruitcake myself! Have a wonderful holiday season!
