I saw these advertised on tv and was wondering whether these actually work. Has anyone tried them? I know our bananas tend to ripen quickly so was just wondering whether it was worth buying. If not, what else would you suggest to slow down the ripening process? Thanks for sharing.

I know someone who swears by them and she's a real person. I'm thinking of getting one for myself too but I'm still rethinking if it's really safe and all. We do get a lot of fruits rotting so soon. Banana bread then!

Yummy @ banana bread/loaf :) The book club I belong to 'Literary Guild' is having a special $9.99 for a set of 20. Not bad a price I would think. Just wanted to see if others have used them. Thanks for your comment SaintAnne!

Isoit the green coloring of the bags that does this? If so I've lots of green plastic bags from the stores here. Or is it some chemical added to the bags? I am curious now as to why they work. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

those green bags must be doing wonders then. i believe that they are not available in my country. if they are being marketed here, surely there will also be some of us who will be patronizing this product.

I suggest just buying what you can eat before they over ripen is all. I've seen these bags and have not heard of anyone that uses them. So no review on them from me today. If you have some that over ripen you can always make banana bread with them. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I was thinking that too Grandpa Bob. Just buy fewer than I normally buy.

If you have bananas that are starting to go bad and you don't have time to make bread you can peel the bananas and put them (individually) in zip-loc bags in the freezer. Great for snacks, frozen, or for topping breakfast food. they thaw rather quickly and when handled to much they will tend to get mushy. I eat them right from the baggie as a frozen snack.

these green bags must be wonderful to make use of at home. imagine lengthening the useful life of those fruits and vegetables which use to rot easily. maybe, it will not be long when these bags will find its way in my country, too.

Do you have a Wal-Mart where you live? Their produce bags are green. My stuff lasts a good while in those. Talk to the produce manager of the store that you do shop at. Get his opinion. Hopefully he will be old enough and schooled enough to know what you are talking about.

Yes we do :) I'll check it out when we go this weekend and see if their produce bags are green. I don't think I've ever noticed them, mind you I wasn't really looking. It is a bit of a drive but worth the effort when we do shop there. Thanks conkeller :)
