Snowy Day - Poor birds wouldn't come eat.

Friday I had a mild snowstorm. It started about 9 a.m. with light snow. Then the winds (45 mph) started in. It was a wet heavy snow that was blowing around like crazy. This photo shows the snow falling. The poor nbirds weren't even out to eat during this storm. The squirells also stayed away which is way odd. I ended up with an inch but it all melted away by the late afternoon. Soon after it melted the critters were back for their dinner and snacks etc. Do you set food out for the birds and squirells etc during the cold days of the winter months? Don't have too, there is a big acorn tree in the front yard that they come an go as they please. I know they are storing stock for the winter. Even though here in NC the cold has not come yet. It's been cool at night but not so bad during the day. I really don't see birds when it get cold nor the squirrels either. But with that big tree in the front yard. They have more that enough to eat.

They also need water espoecially once it gets cold here. I add a small saucer of water once in awhile. I want a heated birdbath actually. Cost is the problem though as they are exspensive. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

We put out feeders at my dads. We keep them filled all year round. The hurricane that affected Texas, killed much of the birds food. We usualy have a yeard full of birds at dads. The squirrels eat alot of the seed that hits the ground.I hope everyone is feeding the birds!

I am lways chasing the squirells from the feeder. Also black birds are rampant. Once they get the big seeds, the finches etc come to eat the little ones. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Hi webeishere. I live in a big town in a tropical country so I can't do this. But I want to congratulate you for doing this. I love animals and I have two parrots (my babies LOL). Keep your nice and kind heart fellow. Have a nice day.
