to hire a lawer you must first talk to them. but to talk to them you must pay. what happens is the take your money then if for some reasen thay don't want or cant help you thay get to keep your money. now faced with having to get a lawer and the want me to pay 1200.00 for there surves. lawers are nothing but theves. thay all should be put in jail for charging so much

Hi dad2spot,
I know lawyers are law to themselves, because they can charge what ever they like as most of them are self employed, is there no a system in your country like legal Aid? it for people who cannot aford a lawyer and the goverment pay the lawyer. Its just terriable for you. I am sorry.

Most lawyers will do a free consult. You need to shop around.

Yes, lawyers are very expensive. If you go to court with out a lawyer, you may be able to get a public defender which then you don't have to pay, depending on your income.
