How long does it normally take you to fall asleep at night? If I am not completely exhausted when I lay down it normally takes me about 30 minutes to fall asleep. How long does it take you?

If I'm really tired then it doesn't take me long to fall asleep, less than 10-15 minutes. Sometimes I have to read a book to feel sleepy or take a hot bath beforehand.

Sometimes reading does the trick for me, but not always.

I so wish that I could fall asleep fast. I usually lay there waiting for sleep to come, it doesn't matter how late I go to bed. My husband hits the sheets and it is lights out instantly for him. I lay there listening to him snore, sometimes I get back up and get on the computer hoping that will make me sleepy. When I am not feeling well, and have to take medicine, I will drift off to sleep relatively fast.

Trying to fall asleep with someone snoring next to you is no fun. Especially not if you have trouble falling asleep to begin with.

I am so exhausted most of the time I go to sleep right away....there are very few times I lay awake very long....But if I do I try to find something to take my mind off of what's keeping me awake....so I usually take pen and paper to bed....or close by to write down what I am thinking of and get it off my mind.

My hubby says I fall asleep fast. Which I guess is a good thing. The bad thing is I don't stay asleep. I am usually up 2-3 hours later. So I still feel exhausted.

Actually I have to completely exhausted to fall asleep anymore. I have so many things running thru my mind. I have been on the internet a lot and I have been reading alot maybe doing to many things for my brain to handle or my body just has the energy to keep going and going.

Yep! Same here. There are just so many things to consider. Last night was the worst. I'd stayed up late talking with hubby, the first time we've had a really good talk in ages. And, the things we talked about, kept going through my head as I was trying to sleep. Finally around 2 am, I fell asleep. I think it was all the happy excitement surrounding the upcoming new year. Just about an hour from now, will be the dawn of 2011. Can't wait to see all the wonderful happy changes that will be coming for the new year.

Sometimes I've taken naps in the day, which ruin trying at night so I'm trying to stop that. If exhausted, instantly. If not, then it takes me about half an hour to a full hour perhaps. I really hate it though, and its either because its hot, or I'm thinking too much. I think once it took me three hours, but that was because I was forced to go early.

I can fall asleep really fast when I lay down to take a nap during the day.

I fall asleep within about ten minutes if I don't have something I am worrying about. My problem is that if I wake-up in the middle of the night I have a hard time going back to sleep. Sometimes it can take almost an hour.
