Be the best you can be

I doubt there's a person on this earth who couldn't use some improvement, somehow. Are you aware of what your faults are? Do you strive to learn about your faults, and how to change them? Do you strive to better yourself in any or all aspects of your life? Being a better person is something I've always thought about, but only ever occasionally put effort into. That is until the past couple years. Most of the changes I've made were just gradual due to my changing circumstances and "growing up". But I still recognize there are other aspects of my life I need to work on. There are always things a person can change for the better. I've worked very hard and trying to improve my marriage and my parenting skills, although sometimes it can be difficult. I still have a long way to go, but I'm still trying. Do you think it's important to always strive to be better, or are you happy with the person you currently are? Tell me your thoughts.

This is a tough question friend. Self criticism doesn't come easy to lots of people, including me at one time. Now, I do strive to be a better person. To be kinder, more caring and tolerant. It is my faith that drives this desire. I really believe and have been told by others, that I am a changed person. I try really hard to live what I believe, and it's a daily struggle but it's all good because it might just help someone else out some day.

Self criticism still does not come easy to me. I think most of it dawned on me one day when I was reading a relationship book. I picked up the book in hopes it would help change my husband... but after reading it I realized I was the one who needed to change. I take a few steps back now and then, but for the most part I keep working towards change.

Life is a constant learning lesson. We learn from our mistakes. Often we neglect to listen to the lessons learned by others. This leads us down the wrong path. We all have good points and not so good points. Recognizing the bad ones and changing can be difficult, but when we decide to change them and truly work on it, we can change for the better.
