As Big Ben chimed 11 times I sat away from my computer and thought for a while about the people who had lost their lives in conflict and their families. Then I heard my neighbour stomp up their stairs and go into the bathroom. I then thought about the pile of washing I had to fold, the sink full of dishes to wash and about what I am going to cook for dinner tonight. 2 Minutes sure is a long time in silence don't you think?
Where were you and what were you doing at 11am 11/11/08?

I have my lunch at that time, and making a plan for ourselves.
Here, we call 11/11, the day for single person. So in all my roommates now still have no boyfriends, and enjoy our single and meanful life. We want to celebrate the day.
I think to many people, it is a sad day, with 24 years old while have no boyfriends. But to me, I like the present life, and want no change.

At that time I was at work and I had just finished a tough lesson. Thank God cos I was almost voiceless at the end of it. I ended up with a big headache and I went to have a nap after a day's work. I felt more tired than doing any physical work in a quarry.

Hi Humbug, I was actually at the Royal Marine camp at work at eleven and everyone stopped for the whole two minutes to stand in silence and to think not only of those already lost but those friends that have been injured and the ones about to go off to face who knows what so it was very sombre and no one was stomping up the stairs to the loo, that would have to wait. The thoughts in my heads were prayers for the continued safety of all on active duty and for the people that have lost loved ones in all wars all over the world over history. Huggles. Ellie :D

Hi ellie333
It was rather annoying having the neighbour stomp up the stairs and distracted me from my thoughts. I often think about the lads in the forces especially as it is on the news constantly and also I have a brother in the Army who has done his time in several countries.
