I am sure decorations are part of every culture and land: How does your family decorate their house for Christmas? Myself, I have to work around two cats..so I keep it simply to a nativity scene.. The glitter and ornaments have to stay boxed.

ok let me first start off with, my notify does not work for you. I turned it on and have never gotten one that you started a discussion. So if I miss some of yours I'm sorry. As for decorating, we put up a tree a fake not real since three of us are allergic to real ones. We do not have any store bought ornaments on the tree, my aunt makes ornaments and gives them as gifts so we have plenty of non breakable ones lol. We also have a lot of hang up deocrations; snowmen, christmas bears, santa those sorts.

agreed- deff try for a picture that sounds like a gorgeous try-- sometimes the millions of lights and big bulky over the top ornaments get a little old....

We put icicle lights on the outside. Not much else there. Then we put up a tree. We had to find our cat a new home due to allergies. So this step has become alot easier. Our stockings go up as well. I guess you'd say somewhat traditional in Christmas decorating.

Our Decorated Cristmas Tree - Christmas is celebrated globally. So we too be a part of it.
We do not decorate the house for Christmas but the younger siblings get to decorate the tree and we gain tremendous joy doing it. We don't buy the tree every year. We have two potted christmas tree/plant and we decorate the bigger one out of the two. Its enough to bring in the atmosphere of gaeity and celebration. My younger siblings find great thrill and happiness in it and I too.

I am not sure what type of decorating I will end up doing this year. My daughter who is not quite 2 is really into everything and climbing on things. I am almost afraid to decorate for Christmas.

I have seven cats to work around. I put my Christmas trees up on milk crates. That way their tails just brush the bottom ornaments as they walk by. I make sure the bottom ones aren't glass or breakable. They don't usually go up into the trees. No tinsel if you have cats. By the way, I have 5 full size trees in my home and numeous smaller ones. I love Christmas decorations, obviously!

Missy Moo my smart cat! - Missy is one of the smartest cats around..She brings things to you to catch and it doesnt matter how you throw it ..she jumps up and catches it. She turns on water, flushes the commode and say "no" as good as any person..Perhaps because I say "no' so much..I would even say she kinda sounds like me when she says it!!
I would do that if I didn't have missy..she is quite a cat.. she flushes the toilet ..turns on bath water and has a real good handle on the word " no " she says it quite clearly!! Can you believe that..Glad your cats wont jump on the tree.. Miss is attached to his response..she is Miss Sophisticated!

Inside or out?? well first off- i know what you mean about the cats... we have three dogs. just big enough to walk under the tree and pine needles go EVERYWHERE. my mom is big into christmas- we have our nativity set that im in charge of setting up every year. then we have little boots for the shelves we fill with the mini- candy canes. plus me and my mom collect snow men so we have a throw to go over the mantle above the fireplace where we have our snowmen and stockings, christmas lights go all the way the cieling in the livingroom-- not obnoxious ones.. cute lights for relaxing before bad and just taking in the beauty of the holiday. we usually have one of those plasit light-up santa clause and santa mouse for outside in front. my parents try every year for the ginerbread house lighting effect.. but mom never likes the way dad does it. (kinda like tradition) and then thats about it. were not a big "white light" family at all... that kind of went down the tubes three years ago when EVERYONE imaginable had the icicle lights and bush net lights... they got old fast.. but other than that the food makes the holiday. mom makes the best cookies and baked goods- My fave- (you should try them!! Mexican Wedding Cakes Rum Balls absolutely to die for

I am sorry to be so late to responding..this week got busy..but Glad that you are able to manage a tree for your muti-animal home.. I have one cat that is constantly pulling down my curtains and clawing everything in site.. maybe an artificial tree with lights and no ornaments would be good for me.
