If you were to be alone this Christmas, what would you do?

Christmas time is the time for happiness and togetherness. We all anticipate the joy this yuletide season brings. What if you were to be alone this Christmas? Let's say an unprecedented event took place and you were left alone. What would you do? Will you still be happy? Can you cope up with the solitude? Well, its just a "what if". And I am sure creative imaginations will chase away the loneliness.

It's sad to think that someone out there would be alone at a supposedly joyous and family-bonding affair. But I know of a lot now who go through this loneliness every year. It's really sad but I guess that's how things are and we could do something to make it a little bit more joyful, even if alone. If I were to be alone this Christmas, maybe I'd: 1. Go to a friend's or relatives' home and share the festivities with his/her family. It sure isn't home but at least I won't get to be alone and I'm thinking now which friend or relatives home that would be. If number 1 isn't possible, then maybe I'd: 2. Call someone to talk to over the phone or online. Talk to a family member or someone special. I'm sure they wouldn't mind talking to me throughout the night. One big problem though is the long distance phone bills. But if it beats the loneliness, then I'd settle for the bills. If both number 1 and 2 isn't possible, then perhaps: 3. I would celebrate it myself. Go to malls and other places in the city where they have a good choice of Christmas ornaments and displays. 4. Go to parties, street parties or government balls or something. 5. Cook me up a nice dinner and then reminisce or watch a good movie. It's sad but memories are a lot in my mind and I could remember exactly how things were and would promise myself that I'd never be this lonely again in the future, and work hard for that future to happen. There you go, a lot of options but surely, nothing beats the feeling of being with the people you love during Christmas time. I sure hope that situation would never come, and hopefully no one would be lonely this Christmas!

Thanks laydee. Yes it is really sad to think that someone might be alone this christmas... But I salute your creative solutions to this situation! Hehe... Beats the loneliness, eh? I'd go for number 5 for the best solution. Still, it makes me think not to be alone this christmas, or else...LOL Hope we all have a joyous celebration this yuletide season! -calyxus
