Actually I never thought of it that way. I mean one many times falls off to sleep crying, or rather the phrase would be cry themselves to sleep. But is there any scientific explanation to it or logic, I dont know. But yes I too feel that we get tired crying and so we feel sleepy.

We feel sleepy because we are tired of crying and releasing that heavy emotions inside us. Then after that situation all our reflexes got tired and feel heavy feeling of sleepy. That is the moment that i would like always to happened with every time I cried. But to tell you the truth I like to cry and sleep afterward.

yeah I think you're right some experience that too. Unfortunately for me I don't feel sleepy, it gives me a headache and I hate the feeling of it. So I seldom cry because I know what it will feel right after I stop crying. I usually take some medicine just to lessen the headache I'm feeling. Grrrr ,,^^,

crying is one very interesting process
for me it works that way : at first it makes me feel really good and i am not as worried about my problems anymore and then i feel sleepy and i need to sleep some and then i wake up with a really bad headache :P
but i think crying, as everything else, exists for a reason and it has its function. and i think it is healthy, despite the headache and other side effects.

Scientifically, crying causes the body to lower the feel good hormones which are responsible for the overall general psychological health. So to recover the original blood pressure and the adequate hormone level, the brain sends chemical messages to the neurons to induce sleep so that the body can rest and recuperate fully, the tired eyes get an opportunity to relax as well.

We have all come across the phrase 'cried myself to sleep'. Crying comes as a result of our emotional state, more often when we are sad. And this state of mind is very heavy on a person, so crying helps to release the weight, makes you light and your body enters a relaxing state and you fell asleep.
