My friend was just dianosed with diabetes

She is very upset. I told her not to worry that it is treatable. Her doctor wants her to come in next week,to discuss her treatment. I told her that if the doctor is waiting as long as till next week to see her that he is not too worried right now. That is right isn't it? As I know when my husband was diagnosed the doctor wanted to see him the same day and worked him in between patients, he also was not allowed to leave until they could get his sugar levels to come down, His was very high. He was given a shot of insulin while in the office. My friend is afraid of shots and said she will not take shots, I told her that if she is careful she may only need to take the pills for a while, and may be able to get so she can control her diabetes with diet and exercise/
