You are sitting comfortably relaxing in the evening ans someone rings you up and says that they are coming over. youkneo that if they come they will have dinner too. How do you react? Do you welcome them or try to avoid their coming over?

Well, if I knew the person well, I will welcome them with open hands. In fact, I would be glad to cook them dinner if they stay for dinner. But if I don't know them well, I probably would be annoyed.

Oh, if I am not ready seeing them, I will tell them frankly my uneasiness towards the situation and at least be blunt about it, but if I am ready and spontaneous about things then that's not a problem.

Well depends I have food to feed them. If I don't have anything available then I will tell them frankly that I can't give them any. If they insist to come over or if they offer to just buy food for themselves then why not. I'll make sure that the house is free from clutters. Haha! If I do have food available, then I'll be more than happy to let them come and be sure to prepare the food quickly.

That happens to us fairly often with family members. I never mind, it's great to have a close family and to share good times. My grandmother used to always say that you could always throw another potato in the pot...meaning that there is always extra for family and friends.

I don't get stressed easily over guests coming over. I would just simply prepare enough dinner to feed them too. I've usually got something in the freezer that I can whip together pretty quick. On the other hand this very situation stresses my poor sister out to the max. She goes into total panic mode when an unexpected guest shows up at her house. I have teased her a lot of times over this very thing. The reason that she panics is because she plans her meals and plans just enough for the ones eating which is normally just her and her husband. I have two sons and they are constantly coming and going and sometimes bringing a friend or two home with them so I have learned to be very flexible with my meal planning. So I guess it depends on how organized and how well you plan your meals. I've tried to tell her to just simply tell the guests that she is not prepared to have dinner for them but she would rather do it and then I get to hear the complaining! LOL

I enjoy entertaining guests at home, hopefully they at least call so I can be ready to serve them some drinks and snacks. It also depends on how close my husband and I to the visitors .. Happy MyLotting
