What are your thoughts and feelings regarding a national health care system, that provides healthcare to all, even those without insurance?

In theory, it's a great idea. However, if you look at countries that have them, there's usually a problem with long waiting lists when it comes to specialized care, like cancer treatment, transplants, etc. I think a better option would be expanding medicare benefits to everyone who chooses to have them with a monthly premium based on a person's income. That way, people can still choose their doctor, hospitals still get paid and can hire staff and everyone gets insurance.

I believe this is what the american society lacks and it is far behind compared to Europe.A health system which is universal.National health systems is europe suffer that is the true. However they offer a minimum of facilities and treatment to those who are financially weak. I think everywhere there should exist a national health care system.

I live in the UK where we have such a system in place. Fundamentally it is a good thing because eveybody gets health care. But there is no denying that it has mant problems, our health service is in a right mess mainly due to the lack of funds, even tho the government gives it £billions every year there still is never enough money, waiting lists are abismal and mistakes often occur. Still I would still have the system we got rather than you in the States.
