The day after Thanksgiving is a big day for shopping here, stores have great sales going on they start advertising these sales before Thanksgiving, Wal-Mart is one of these stores, the sales starts early in the morning around 5-6 o'clock am. I never have attended any of these early morning sales, I refuse to get out of my warm bed and fight that crowd. I even have heard people actually get into fights at these sales. My sister said she went one year and a group of teenagers were there and someone asked them what were they getting that was on sale. They replied "we come to see the fights".. Will you be going to any of the after Thanksgiving sales this year?

Hi chevee! There is no way that I would ever dare go near a store on Black Friday! You couldn't pay me or give me something for free to get me near any store on that day! I have heard the same stories. It is insane! I am not risking my life for any stupid sales and crazy crowds killing themselves and fighting over merchandise. It is not worth it to me! And they wait on line outside in the middle of the night in the freezing cold! Not a chance in hell! I've seen it on tv and it it looks so insane people fighting over stuff. Give me a break! I'll stay in my nice warm house and recover from all that nice turkey that I will have eaten and recover from all the cooking and cleaning up from the day before. I'll go shopping when the stores clear out!

My wife, I and our daiughter did it last year actually. Went to Kohls for their midnight opening. There had to be 1,000 poeple in line. Then the mad dash to get into the one door they opened. yes, just one door, not the adjoining one, just one. Unfrigging real. Never again. I'll go Saturday maybe. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Ha we've come to see the fiights. That's so funny. It would be entertaining, wouldn't it? It always looks funny on TV when they all rush in and yeah I have seen people arguing over clothes on the news. I have never been to a post-whatever sale. I definitely won't be going to the post thanksgiving sale for two reasons. 1)I live in Australia and we don't celebrate thanksgiving and 2) I'm saving all of my pennies for my trip to the states! This year I actually think I might grab me some post boxing day sale fighting action!!

If you are refering to black Friday, then no I am not. I do not like to shop on this day since it is so busy and so crowded everywhere. I usualy call the day off since my boys are home from school and we just spend the whole day together around the house.

We don't celebrate Thanksgiving in my country. But I bought my laptop online during a thanksgiving sale last year. I think the discounts are great because the price of my laptop last year is still the same as the price this year (without the thanksgiving discount). I think online shopping will be better than going to the stores yourself. Not only do you get to save on gas, you'll also avoid any possible fights with other shoppers.

I will probably go but will steer clear of the fights. I don't see that any deal is worth fighting for. Think about it, you get into a fight, you get arrested, you spend way more money on legal fees than you would have paid for the item at regular price.. Now does that make mush sense? Yes I go to see if I can get some of the special deals but I only go to Wal-Mart as that is all we have here in our little town and I won't drive 40 miles just to try to get a good deal.

I have never and don't ever plan on going shopping the day after Thanksgiving. To me the crowds you have to deal with are not worth the savings you get.

The crowds, the mayhem, no thanks. I am 8 months pregnant, that wouldn't be fun anyway. I haven't gone to these 5 am sales yet. Don't think I plan to either. If I do any shopping it will be online.

I have not and will not ever shop on black friday. I dont think it's worth it. people acting all crazy and being violent. Terrible. I worked as a temp at Shopko on black friday and it was insane. I had never seen anything like that before in my life. There were arrows taped on the floor in every isle telling you which wayto go and the line to the registers stretched to the back of the store and around. There were employees whos job that day was just to direct the line. I was new and so I had no idea what I was doing and customers kept asking me all sorts of questions. they were like shopping zombies ready to tear my throat at any minute. I just hid in the back as much as I could. No way I am going to chose to go in there. I'd rather just do my shopping early and pay full price. It's worth not getting any broken bones.

No - i will be working. I think I will head to the mall the next day to see what can be had, though. I've read that sales will be particularly good this year.

I refuse to get out of bed on the morning after Thanksgiving. I will be curled up nice and toasty in my bed. Plus, people are downright vicious when it comes to after-Thanksgiving shopping. People get arrested every year for battery and theft. It's crazy that Friday!

No, I won't be one of those crazy people shopping the day after Thanksgiving. There is nothing that important for me to get in that mess. Working retail a few days on that day was enough for me. I loved the people that came in late looking for the morning sales and wanted to know why everything was gone. If a sale ran from 7 a.m. til 11 a.m. you can't come in at 5 p.m. and expect to get the deal. Well, duh.

I agree with you, I am not going to get up before the sun, and leave the comfort of my bed, to fight the crowds for a few things that will probably end up being cheaper closer to Christmas anyway. Not only have I heard of people getting into fights at these sales, I have also heard of people getting up and arrivng at the store as much as an hour before it even opens just to stand in line to be one of the first through the doors.

I wouldn't touch a store with a ten foot pole after thanksgiving. I can't believe people line up at a store hours before it opens. I've even seen tents!!! Not for me I'll pay regular price or send cards!

I think I have gone shopping on "black friday" once or twice. Maybe you can get some good deals, but the crowds are awful!!! I just don't think it's worth fighting over stuff with other to me. So, I will be staying home this year.
