Do you expect response after you start a new discussion?

It's only natural to expect responses to our discussions. After all, hopefully, we have put something out on the site which, someone at least, will feel something about! Very often it happens, however, that our most fervent opinions seem to go unanswered. The first few times it happened to me, I felt hurt and rejected but then, I reflected, this is not as big a community as it seems. Although there are several thousand members, not all of them (by any means) happen to be logged in at any one time; many of those are busy answering or creating discussions and not everyone scans the 'New' list with any regularity! Our discussions, inexorably, slip down the list (slower or faster, depending on how many discussions are being posted every minute) and inevitably slip off the bottom (onto page 2). In the end, it is not usually anything we have done or not done. We shoot our arrows off, hoping they will find a target, but sometimes they don't and there's no rhyme or reason to it - it just happens. Reviving discussions which have no responses (and for which, therefore, we don't get paid) is difficult. The best way is to look at your list of friends to see if any might be interested in your topic and to PM them asking if they would like to respond.

yes ,it is so interesting for some one responses your discussions.but it sometimes hurts your heart,because there is no one answer your discussions.the feelings come from your hopes.so i will give some new and interesting discussions for everyone in the mylot.

I agree with you, everybody expects responses thats why its called discussion but i don't really expect someone to response right away as i know it will take sometime. It depends on how interesting the discussion is, if its attracts or if someone can relate on the topic that was made. I have also experience couple of times on my discussion with no one response but its alright. It just thought me how to make a good one next time.

I do like to start discussions here from time to time and of course I would like to receive a lot of responses. However there have been times when there was no interest to my posting and I felt a little discouraged. There have been times when I posted a question and it wound up getting me a lot of responses to my surprise. I enjoy asking questions and the answers that I receive. I don't always expect a response right away with my questions though.

As we are posting our discussions here there are the tendency for us to hope for the responses coming from them. If they are interested to our topic we've been post they will responded but if not, we have nothing to do but to wait for those interested to response. Actually, we cannot point what is the most interesting topic. In my case, I post my topic that I like to share with no hope they like it much, but for me is to express my inner feeling through discussions. And also I respond to the topic that I am interested and if that topic helps to those who wrote the post. I always give my consideration to the topic that I have read and responded the way I can.

I certainly expect good number of responses to the new discussions that I have started, and also when I get those responses I try my best to leave comments for those discussions, so that whenever I start another new discussions, the people whom I commented to will again like to repond to my discussion.
