How to continue to encourage/ challange a 5 1/2 year old who may be gifted?

Our daughter's teacher recommended that she may be nominating my daughter to take the gifted test (since only one kindergartner is chosen each year). She has been asking for Muzzy language videos for quite some time, which she will receive for christmas, and has been asking for videos to learn sign language. One thing I am worried about is pushing her too hard, but on the other hand, she WANTS to learn, and wants to learn about new cultures and languages. What other activities are recommended to not only teach children who are ahead of their class, but to keep it so that is still fun (she is still a kid after all). I don't want to push her too hard, but I also don't want to not encourage her love for learning. If you have a gifted child, what are your secrets for constant stimulation Thank you in advance.
