In a relationship, honesty is very important...as well as trust...
but sometimes you need to hide something from your partner...
what would it be for you?

Honestly I think it depends on who you are or how you are. I would always tell my partner anything. I don't hide anything to her. I'm sure some people would have a difficult time to tell their partner their secrets or things they've been hiding. But if you really care for someone and that person cares a lot about you too, why would you consider hiding stuff?

I think it's better to tell him that you don't like the gift. Otherwise, he will think you like it, and may buy you next time again.
My father told me a funny story about his friend, his friend's wife cooks the noodle soup for him every day just because he said once he like it!!! My father's friend even doesnt like to go home and have dinner now after working... lol.

If in a relationship there is something to hide than that mean that the relaitonship is not so stable and it is unhealthy.
