So what do you do on New Years Eve? Do you stay at home with the kids? DO you go out to a party? What do you do with your kids? I have always spent it with the kids. One year we went out to a friends farm, hooked up taboggans to the trucks and towed the kids around on them. The kids thought that was the best new years ever. We usually sit around watching movies or playing games.

I am sorry to hear about last new years. One year I spent it in the hospital when I was pregnant with my middle child. I had a respritory tract infection. So I know what that is like. Thanks for sharing with me.

I have not been awake to ring in the New Year since my son was born. New Years 2000 is the last time I bothered staying awake. We just stay home and have an every other night of the year night.

I don't like to go out for New Years. Too many people out there drinking and driving. I will invite some friends over and keep it pretty quiet. We let the kids stay up as late as they can. We play games.

My kids are always up until midnight. You are right that there are too many people drinking and driving on that night.

We are homebodies too. Although, in our early married years we may have gone out to dinner (just the two of us) a few times. My partying days are over. We usually play games or watch a movie. It is tradition for us to go out on the front porch at midnight and scream at the top of our lungs "HAPPY NEW YEAR!!" That started when the kids were little and they love the idea of "getting away" with something like that! A few years ago, our church had a board game night. There were tables set up all over the gym and anybody could play what they wanted. It was a lot of fun!

I am so glad that you shared that. I am sure that it would be fun for the kids to shout out at midnight.

My husband and I stay at home for New Years. We are not really party people, and prefer just staying at home. Sometimes we are both asleep when midnight comes. We will usually buy some rather festive snacks to have that evening, things we do not normally eat and just enjoy each others company.
